What a treasure!! Sometimes good fortune hands you a gift. I am SO glad I stumbled on to this property. Cozy, comfortable, well maintained and staffed. A very well run property. I would recommend to any and all.

Very clean, quiet, and helpful with directions. Happy stay.
Wonderful property. Great downtown location. Clean, well-maintained. Great breakfast at the restaurant next door included in the rate. Everything was awesome. Great value for your money. Only downside was the scratchy towels.
Decent stay, actual hot breakfast at the restaurant provided, both there and to go. You can walk to the bookstore and cafes down the street. I had the room on the end so I could hear people on the metal stairs, but it was still a good night's sleep for the price.

typical mom/pop motel. Generally clean, somewhat updated - bed squeaked.
The free, freshly-prepared breakfast is at the attached restaurant at the motel, and is excellent. Many locals came in for regular paid meals as well.
The staff was very pleasant in all the different positions - check-in, hospitality, restaurant, etc.
The building is very well-constructed, and much quieter than most modern motels.
This is not by any measure a luxury motel, but it is very good for its class.
I will agree with earlier reviews that the rooms are not well lighted, however. Brighter LED bulbs and a ceiling lamp would really help.
We would stay here again if we come back to the area.

Good for a quick stopover
This room met its purpose as a quick stop between Santa Fe and Denver, allowing us to enjoy a brief stop at the Great Sand Dunes NP. Nothing was exceptional but nothing was terrible. It is a rather old but remodeled property, but it definitely shows its age. I would have a appreciated in-room coffee as I'm and early riser. I will give a shout out to the tasty free breakfast in the adjacent restaurant. It was freshly cooked and much better than a typical buffet found in most economy hotels.

Overrated, Overrated.....
I booked based on the rating. I believe rating was inflated by the diner breakfast. The breakfast was better than most. I paid an additional $3.25 for our upgrades.
The mattresses were terrible and the pillows were a joke. The towels should be burned.
Spend another $25 and stay somewhere else.
The condition of the main room was excellent accept I could hear the people in the next room. The bathroom was poor. The toliet clogged and the shower was weak and had very minimal hot water.
Clean and adequate room in a safe area. The room came with a voucher for breakfast at a next door restaurant which was a good value.

The breakfast was amazing and fresh! The room wasn’t anything fancy, the bed was okay. The room and bathroom could be updated. Good for a quick stay to go to the Dunes!
