Not my best stay
Publié le 2 déc. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe home was in a bad neighborhood. Lots of homeless people walking around which made us feel unsafe. Trash was left from previous renters. Home was very old and had a smell. Back door does not lock even with it being locked all you have to do is push door open. Trash left under beds. Home was dusty. Felt like i walked into a time capsule.

We didn’t stay!
Publié le 10 août 2023 sur HomeAwayOn 4/6, we arrived with confirmation in hand, but our code didn’t work. I called the homeowner, and he wasn’t expecting any renters until 4/13. We were given a working code to the key box, but there was no key. After waiting in our car, someone brought 1 key for 7 people to share. The house was unclean, the tubs had rust stains, and there was a stale odor. We left the property, checked into a hotel and called Evolve (3rd party company used by the homeowner) to let them know and ask for a refund but were told that doesn’t usually happen for cleanliness issues. We were supposed to give the homeowner a chance to rectify the issue. Our weekend was packed with activities; we did not have time to waste. We ended up losing our money and paying for 4 nights of hotel rooms!

Had a blast! Felt like home.
Publié le 27 déc. 2022 sur HomeAwayThis was an amazing visit. We all had plenty of space to stretch out and relax. The kitchen was stocked with whatever I needed to cook with. All appliances available. Beds were comfy and clean. House was immaculate. We all felt safe. Will definitely be back!!

Great Stay
Publié le 2 août 2022 sur HomeAwayThe house was perfect for what I was looking for. It is very spacious and filled with character. It’s a great value and is by far the nicest place I have stayed at in Albany, hotels included. It is located very close to the hospital and I felt completely safe. We will definitely return.

False advertising - super sketchy area of town!
Publié le 19 juin 2022 sur HomeAwayThis house sits between a free clinic and a shady gas station! Lots of homeless folks walking around the area. You only find that out once you actually book the place and then it’s too late and they won’t cancel your reservation! I am a single woman and there’s absolutely NO WAY I would EVER stay in a shady place like this. This is not the cute residential neighborhood it’s advertised on VRBO. It’s a dangerous part of Albany, GA. Check google for the crime rates in that neighborhood!

Jena, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you.
You didn't even give us a chance and didn't set foot on the property and to state that it felt unsafe is a fabrication of the truth. This home is in a historic district and in an area that is primarily a business district. We are about 1/2 a block from the hospital but we have never had a lot of foot traffic, there is traffic on the main road but when the sun goes down the neighborhood is quiet and relaxing. There is a doctor's office on one side and the gas station is on the other side of the doctor's office.
Like most businesses, they have hours of operation and when they close so does the traffic. The property is fenced in for our safety as well as that of our guests and we have security cameras on the exterior of the home. We lived in the home and we never experienced anything unsafe. We have had plenty of guests who have been happy with our home and have given us 5-star reviews and their safety was never an issue. I'm sorry you felt it necessary to stop payment and to give us an unfair review.
We truly go above and beyond for our guests and are confident that future guests will have excellent stays!

I liked the architecture and the effort by the homeowners to preserve the building.
I didn't like that only the foyer and a bathroom were available for use on the main floor.
Some loose tiles around the fireplaces, random items in the bedroom drawers, and paint splotches on the floors suggest that the listing may have been rushed.
