The Coach House is clearly advertised as one of three properties available for hire on our small farm known as Oaks Barn Farm. Parties and celebrations are by strict prior agreement with us. We were not aware that this was a birthday party booking so had not given our prior agreement for this to take place. The 6 girls were exceptionally loud to the point other guests complained about their loudness and swearing. We are a family accommodation provider and only accept parties when all 3 properties are booked out to the same person. Therefore the only people disturbed are ourselves. The rules of use for the Salt water hot tub clearly state that it must not be used past 22:30 to ensure other peoples sleep is not disturbed. This was not adhered to, it was used up to 23:15 and without our intervention to safe guard our other guests I am sure it would have gone on until the early hours. We also request that food and alcohol is not consumed in the Salt water hot tub unfortunately both were, cocktails made of blackberries, pomegranate and blueberries were spilled into the Salt water hot tub which took extensive cleaning and flushing through. It seems they also had a food fight as the berries were scattered and squashed in and around the patio and grass area. I initially tried to ring hoping to chat things through with the guest but no one picked up, I therefore texted to allow me to leave a message asking them to quieten down because it was 23:15. Neither of these methods worked. I therefore followed Homeaway guidelines and logged my concerns on the Homeaway web site. The following night the guests had a full blown carnival themed party with banners, balloons, loud music and were again excessively loud. Other guests in the Granary and Shepherds View were concerned that the second evening was going to carry on as the first. We therefore took the action early on in the evening to ask them to keep the noise down. We always ask at the end of people’s stay if everything has been ok for them. The damage question was taken out of context and was just part of a whole conversation about whether the property was ok for them and was there any maintenance issues we needed to be aware of. If we had been aware that they were having a party we would have discussed this at length to ensure we could have met their needs and that other guests would not be disturbed.
