2 Stars hotel central but needs some updates!

It’s a 2 star hotel. I booked it because it’s central, close to everything. The pictures were decent and nice, but the reality was completely different when they showed me the rooms. I was devastated and not happy with the condition of the rooms, very old, very updated but the manager after I wanted to make a cancellation gave me an upgrade. The room was better with the sea view. Location of the hotel is not on the sea, but you can still see it from far. Mattress were so comfy I like firm mattresses and they have very firm ones. They had elevator problems in the beginning. They fixed it but elevator always stopping halfway etc.. The staff were cooperative except that young man during night shift, he was not fit for his job and never said hello or thank you or tried to fake a smile. Other staff members were very respectful and nice to me. Manager was unhappy cause I was not happy with the hotel and wanted to cancel than when he did gave me a better room all went well. The power cut off between 3 and 5 every day in Egypt - hotel have no generator. My room was quiet - away from noise - They do give you a soap and a small towel and toilet paper roll when needed. They do not have big shower towels. No coffee machines or any electric equipment to make tea or Nescafé. Breakfast was not included. They are remodeling and renovating rooms so there was construction going on. Air conditioner was good and worked well. TV have lots of channels but wish the size was bit bigger.
