PROPERTY INFESTED WITH ANTS
Publié le 12 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe arrived at the villa on a Saturday 24th August 2024 and all seemed ok. we had a few ants in the kitchen but didn't think anything of it. At 2am Tuesday i was woken up by ants crawling all over my face and in my bed. The ants were coming out of the wall light above my bed, crawling down the wall and on to my bed. This was so traumatizing to wake up to, it was awful. Things went from bed to worse after that. Jose the property manager come and put ant powder down all around the outside of the property which only made the issue worse. The ants then starting coming out of the plug holes, light switches, from under skirting boards. There was not a few ants there were hundreds. Jose visited the property numerous times to put more ant powder down but this did not solve the issue. we went out for a meal on Thursday evening, when we got back there were hundreds of ants in the living room (where we had slept on the sofa due to them been in the downstairs bedroom) we took a mattress upstairs to put in one of the upstairs rooms and the ants had now come out in there. We had to get a pool lounger out over the other side of the living room for my son to sleep on while myself and my husband sat up to try and book flights home for the next day as we could not stay in the villa any longer. This really was like something off the program holidays from hell. The flights home a day early cost us £900 but we could not take anymore!! I would avoid this villa.

Once I was notified about the ants I immediately sent my property manager to get rid of them and he continued to put down ant powder to resolve the issue. It’s not clear why the guest thought this made the issue worse.
It is well known that ants can be found in warmer climates, these are either dangerous or harmful, but if food was left out then they may appear.
The guest fails to mention that I voluntarily offered her a refund for any inconvenience. She actually refused this and asked for more which I agreed to without hesitation. Having then said it wasn’t about the money, she demanded a full refund!
This was neither fair nor reasonable, but in an effort to help the situation I refunded the guest 50% of her holiday.
It is strange why someone would book flights home one day early during the busiest period of the year, while the rest of the guests stayed and had a great time.
In all the time I’ve rented my home, I have never had an issue like this nor have I had to deal with someone so erratic.
I have warned other VRBO hosts about the guest and her antics. I take great pride in my villa and always want guests to have a relaxed and fun holiday. Unfortunately this guest was determined to exaggerate the issue and issue threats in an effort to extort more money which leaves a bitter taste.

Situated a 10 min walk form the Marina.

Great villa and location
Publié le 13 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe were initially concerned about the salt water pool, we needn’t have been as you could hardly tell. The villa is lovely, it was perfect for what we wanted. 4 good sized bedrooms all with air conditioning. Kitchen was adequately equipped. And walking distance to local shop and the marina with great restaurants. The host was excellent he responded to my messages quickly and the 1 issue I had (regarding the safe) was dealt with within half hour. I would highly recommend this villa and I’m certain we’ll be back.

Fabulous Villa

1 Host communication was first class. From the questions we asked before we booked, through the other queries leading up to our holiday, and the reports we made of minor issues while we were there, Dermot always responded very quickly- usually within 10 minutes .
2 Villa was immaculately clean and tidy when we arrived. It was very well equiped and had everything we needed.
3 we were a family group of 8, from 70 down to 5 and 2 years old. Stayed for 7 days June 2024. Kids (of all ages!) loved the pool.
Was great to eat outside all the time in peaceful garden.
4 Location is good - about 20 minutes walk down to marina. Cab back about 3 to 4 euros if you dont like the walk!
5 overall we had a great week in a fantastic holiday home.

Fantastic villa!
Publié le 28 août 2023 sur HomeAwayWe had a lovely stay at the property. Even though the pictures on the website look amazing, on arrival the villa, garden and pool exceeded expectations.
The Villa was spotless on arrival and is fully equipped which meant a relaxing and enjoyable 1 week stay. I would definitely stay again if I returned to Vilamoura.

Excellent week in a brilliant villa
Publié le 23 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe travelled as a family of 8 (6 adults & 2 young children) and this villa had everything we needed! Pictures shown are exactly what you get when you arrive. The villa is spotless and comes with all the mod cons you would expect. Approx a 10 mins walk to local spar which has everything you need. Marina is approx 15 mins walk but took us slightly longer with two small children. Host was very helpful and quick to reply to any queries we had, both before travelling and when we were there. Would happily recommend to anyone and would also return. The only bad thing was having to leave to come back home.

Amazing holiday

The villa is amazing, so much space all the bedrooms are a really good size and living/kitchen area is great too and all clean. Pool size was great and bigger than expected. Spar located around a 10 minutes walk away. We used uber mostly which we found great 4 euros for a 4 seater taxi. Would highly recommend if your thinking of going to Vilamoura.
