Unexpected Gem

Pros: Breakfast and the pool. Rooms large and good blackout blinds
Cons: Bar open in the evenings
Location: Boat trips in Lagos, beach and shops in many villages.
We thought we had booked in Lagos, but found that we were actually in a smaller town further West, but linked to Lagos, in Praia du Luz. We actually preferred being in a smaller place and yet it had good facilities both in the hotel and also in the local town. Great restaurants and much variety. Street musicians along the promenade and a local church in the centre of the town with an English-speaking local and visiting congregation, part of the Algarve Anglican Chaplaincy. Great centre from which to explore the region. The one thing we would have valued would have been a bar open in the Hotel in the evenings sometimes to get to know the other guests. Only time to meet them was at Breakfast.

Posted Aug. 22, 2018 on HotelsFitness center was closed and we learned the B&B is adults only- my neice stayed elsewhere but was not allowed to visit us. That said, the place was quiet and private and we had the huge pool to ourselves most of the time. Great breakfast, very clean, close to beaches but not easily walkable.

Long weekend in Luz
Posted Aug. 21, 2018 on HotelsVery friendly and welcoming place to stay. Used it as a base so didn’t use ask the facilities, including the pool but it looked inviting. Rooms clean and spacious. Good choice of food for breakfast. Would stay here again.
