Fossil Bank, a luxury detached retreat in the heart of Alnmouth, with parking

This beautifully newly renovated detached retreat is the perfect escape, whether for a few days or a week, or even longer. It has king 2 bedrooms and a bathroom, both with The White Company linen (or equivalent) and sumptuous Hungarian goose down duvets and pillows. Ideally situated in the village close to the beach, golf club, park, fabulous local restaurants and traditional British pubs. The property is secluded from the main street in a courtyard, and gates lead from the main street. There is on road parking outside the gates and if you would prefer to park inside, the courtyard has ample space. The kitchen has all the usual amenities plus a dishwasher and washing machine. To make your stay pleasurable the property benefits from BT hi speed free Wifi, Apple TV, land line telephone, Bose bluetooth speaker, DVD players and large screen Smart TV. Outside there are tables and chairs with The White Company cushions, and table linen. The beach, park and local shops are literally minutes walk away, the post office and general store is directly opposite just across the road. Simply close the gates behind you for a totally relaxing well deserved break. Please contact me for further information or specific information. Check in time 4pm, check out time 10am. Usually we are flexible with check in times, however due to Covid 19 and aiming to keep everyone safe, we will be applying strict check in and out times, and we will be leaving a day between guests changing over. We will ensure the property is deep cleaned after each stay. Although disappointing, we have removed many soft furnishings from the property including large cushions , throws and ornaments for the highest hygiene standards. To ensure the highest clean possible, we will use a disinfectant spray on all soft furnishings that can't be laundered each time, eg settee, carpets, blinds, chairs, carpets. As we move out of the pandemic, we will continue to offer a deep clean and cushions / throws etc will be reintroduced

Lovely property and gorgeous area
I stayed at this property for just three nights because I needed a break away from Manchester city life. The property is stunning. It was spotlessly clean. Everything is very much quality - even the taps! The towels, robes, bedding, again, all discernibly high quality. There were lots and lots of towels which made me feel looked after. I very much appreciated all the shower gels, shampoo, hair conditioners and body conditioners that were in abundance. I had far more than I actually needed. They looked carefully sourced. There were also hand moisturizing creams in helpful places, such as the kitchen. There were also lovely diffuser sticks around and about the place - a thoughtful touch. I also very much enjoyed Alexa! Wifi worked immediately for me, no bother which was another plus. The only slight problem I had was I didn't realize that I needed to give the front gate a good push - the person delivering the post helped me. And then I couldn't actually find the black box with the code for the key - I assumed it would be by the front door but it isn't. Again, the post-person helped me. But this is really minor, and I'm a bit rubbish at this kind of thing anyway. Everyone in the village was amazingly friendly and helpful. The village store just opposite was epic - they sell everything! There are truly fab places to eat also in the village. The beach is two minutes away and mesmerizing!! I can't recommend this place enough!!!

Superb property in a private location in the heart of Alnmouth
The property had everything including a private walled garden, a fully equipped kitchen with all the paraphernalia and white goods. You were not aware that you were in the centre of a busy village with all the necessary shops, pubs etc within a few yards. Contact with the host is to be commended.

Beautiful holiday house, nicely decorated. Cute village with quite some options for dinner and tea. Village shop/post office is nice for the basic groceries. really liked the delicatessen shop down the street. Beach at 5 minute walk. Also parking was easy

Superb location, property and host
The property is in the heart of this lovely village with easy access to all local amenities, including the excellent children’s play park, village store, beach and estuary. Despite its central location, it is secluded and quiet, with plenty of room to relax outside if the weather allows. The accommodation is small, but perfectly formed to a high standard and is kitted out with all the equipment and utensils you are likely to need. The host responded quickly to all communications and bent over backwards to be helpful. Highly recommended all round.

The property was perfect, the rooms were spotless and presented in a very professional way. The kitchen was a great size with a breakfast bar for dining and the toilet/shower room was of a very high standard. The location was great and access to the town and beach was less than a couple of minutes walk, there is a parking space within the confines of the property and ample outdoor dining space if needed. We would absolutely recommend this to a couple or small family, Helen the host was so helpful and was always happy to answer any queries.

A Lovely little cottage with all the tech you need in great location and our own gardener (Ted). We had a great time in a great little town. Only teeny issue was that Master bedroom is up very steep stairs so we snuggled up in the other bedroom: otherwise can’t fault a thing. Helen was really easy to contact and enable access.

Cosy little hideaway
My husband, my 8 year-old daughter and I just had a week's stay at Fossil Bank. The cottage is really well equipped, beautifully decorated and super cosy. We loved the garden and secure parking, and the location on the high street but so close to the beach was brilliant. We had a slight hiccup on checking in, but it was sorted asap by Helen, who was an excellent host. Would thoroughly recommend a stay here. Thanks Helen!

Fabulous house in the centre of Alnmouth, great location for everything Alnmouth and local area has to off. The gates property offers privacy and luxury. Communication from owner was perfect and the quality of the furnishings and fittings was fantastic. Thoroughly recommend as a stay.

Beautiful property
Fossil Bank is a delightful cottage in a very pretty village. Beautifully furnished, really well equipped, and our granddaughter was absolutely thrilled with the treats for us on our arrival. Giant Toblerone and fun sized treats, child heaven. The adults were quite delighted too! We would happily have a return visit to Fossil Bank, a great location for exploring the area. Lots to keep children and adults busy, great places to eat in the village. Enjoyed our visits to Alnwick, Warkworth Castle and village, Amble. Would recommend the village treasure hunt bought from the Post Office across the road, great way to explore the village. Our granddaughter loved it!

Fossil Bank is a wonderful property, right on the high street, but completely private, minutes from the beautiful beach. My friends and I had a wonderful time, we loved all the special touches that Helen had put in place and from a practical perspective it had everything we needed (the parking spaces were very welcome). Alnmouth is a great location, we easily managed trips to so many amazing places such as Craster, Cragside, Alnwick castle and gardens, Bamburgh Castle to name just a few. Definitely recommend.

Fantastic week
Our stay at Fossil Bank was definitely helped by the beautiful weather, so we could fully enjoy the beach and surrounding area. The courtyard area was fantastic to sit out in at all times of the day and has a very Mediterranean feel. The cottage is beautiful, with lots of little extras - little luxurious touches but also lots of practical extras too. The local shops were friendly and well stocked; our daughter sampled a few different flavour ice creams from the nearby shop. We had a wonderful week at Fossil Bank and would love to return. Helen is incredibly helpful and friendly in her emails, which makes a big difference too. Thank you xxx

Really upmarket, hidden away right in the centre of Alnmouth village. Very cozy and on the doorstep of great pubs and restaurants. Spotlessly clean and a very well appointed kitchen. Nice personal touches left by the landlord including Easter eggs for the boys! Would highly recommend.

The property was beautiful. It is perfectly situated in alnmouth. The host was really great at communicating and really helpful. The property has everything you need and is well equipped with all mod Comms. The house was tidy and well presented. This is a good base if you are wanting to explore Northumberland and a lovely place to find a retreat from everyday life

Love Alnmouth and its never ending beaches. House location wonderful, house small bt very good. Suggest it is not suitable for elderly folk(we are 85 and 84) as the stairs are awkward to negotiate and the slippery shower floor necessitates that there should be a bar to hold on to

We loved everything about this property and will definitely be back. The property is beautifully decorated and furnished and hidden away from the high street in its own private yard so the best of everything.
