The location of the resort is in an absolute paradise. Very beautiful, very tranquil. There are a lot of amazing activities to do while there, and my tour guide was great. The resort is nice, and the staff are friendly. The only problem was the female manager. She demanded that I pay for the accommodation, even though I had already paid online at the time of booking with lastminute.com. I showed my receipts for payment and she still demanded that I pay “in cash” for the room. Since the credit card machine wasn’t working I paid for my tours by bank transfer (so there was a record of payment) but refused to pay again for accommodation. The female manager was rude and unprofessional. Beware of her trying to charge again.

We stayed for three nights, primarily for diving. The resort is in a remote location on the beautiful East Cape of Milne Bay. It was an easy journey from the airport to the boat (approximately one hour) through picturesque villages by the coast. The boat ride to Tawali is approximately 15-20 minutes. All the resort staff were very welcoming and made every effort to assist us during our stay. The dive master, Alfred, is very knowledgeable and was great to dive with. Our visit to Hiliwau Village was also a highlight. It included a visit to a skull cave and waterfall. Highly recommended and am looking forward to our next visit.

Tawali is paradise. They pick you up at little airport and take you by van and boat to secluded resort cut out of jungle. They treat you Sooo good. I had a fishing expedition planned with an Aussie outfitter that got cancelled due to weather so cousin and I went to Tawali as we were already in Alotau. Great choice! They took us 2 fishing everyday and we smashed them! Captain Charlie and mates are awesome and know the waters. Just the views of island mountains take your breath away. We caught trevally, yes GT’s, coral trout, red bass, list goes on. Bring fish back and they cook them for you. It’s a dive resort but they cater to whatever you want. I did a mountain hike. They have great security and keep you very safe. I read some reviews about bandits but Tawali has a bunch of guys now nobody is going to mess with. We fished 20 to 40 miles of coastline and offshore, safe as could be. My cousin left after his stay but I stayed and got PADI scuba dive certified and went diving which was incredible! Nosaki was my instructor, very tough and thorough as it should be but she made it sooo much fun. They took me back to airport after my 11 day stay, png air flight was delayed and I would have missed Port Moresby connection but Nosaki stayed with me and helped get flight changed and I made it. PNG is an out there place do if you go, go to Tawali. It is an established gem with a strong reliable local network of locals to take care of you!

Pristine Tranquility !!! When You look at the website, sometimes You have to downgrade Your expectations of a place when You get there, Not with Tawali, this place is set in one of the most beautiful places we've ever been to. The rainforest comes down to the water and the Resort is perched up on a limestone cliff about 60 feet above the house reef, (a great place to snorkel) the rooms were very spacious and comfortable and looked out over a quiet bay that was just Gorgeous, add to that the Dolphin pods that played there a couple of mornings at about 6.30 am and We were in a slice of paradise. You can't get there by road, which is a good thing (helps keep it unspoilt). The 15 minute boat ride was fine and All the Staff were Very helpful and courteous, nothing was too much trouble the whole week we were there, We could not fault Anyone or Anything, Well done to the whole team !!! We did the Skull cave and waterfall wall with the 2 hour walk back through the Villages on the way back, Gilbert Our guide was from one of the villages and did an excellent job of answering all Our questions and telling us all the history of the area along the way. The diving experience was Breath taking, with All of the spots We went to were amazing !!! Clear water !!! No broken coral, a wide range and plenty of critters, with All the Staff on the boats looking after Us both in and out of the water. We will be going back in two years. Well done Management !!! you have a great Team !!!
