The room was clean, but very dated. As was the whole hotel. The staff at the front desk were very friendly. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend the place, but I would stay again if I just needed somewhere to sleep.

Front desk guy William act like he was doing me a favor and telling me he don’t have room and telling me thinks like he doesn’t now how it’s going to give me a one king bed room if he don’t have one, I tell him that don’t matter a double bed and he said it matter because if the price, and then he give me a one king bed room. So if he have it for the first place why all the talking

We used to like staying at Super Eight hotels. lately though it seems like Super Eight has gone downhill. When we checked into the Super Eight in Amarillo we were told that the only room available was on the top floor. That normally wouldn't be a problem except this location does not have an elevator. So we had to make several trips up and down the stairs to haul all of our stuff into the room. Did I mention that we are both senior citizens and we both have problems with our knees? This resulted in a very painful evening hauling our stuff upstairs, only to haul it all downstairs the next morning. When I asked the front desk attendant if we could get some help she said no. She said that since we had booked through a third party site that she couldn't do anything to help us.?.?.?... That doesn't make any sense and it seems like the woman just didn't want to be bothered with anything at all. When we got to the room there was an aroma of what I can only call "wet dog" in the room. that wasn't a pleasant smell to spend all night with. Then my wife almost fell off the toilet because the toilet was anchored on one side only. That is dangerous. The sink in this room had the bottom broken out at some time in the past. Instead of actually replacing the sink it was very crudely pasted back together with silicone caulk. It looked nasty and the edges of the broken part of the sink were sharp enough to cut your finger. Overall a horrible experience.
