The management was excellent and helpful. This is an easy property to access and convenient for most things in Ames. As oft is the case with Microtel, the rooms are small, but they fit the purpose…a place to lay my head. Clean and appeared to have new carpet in the halls.

Did the job
The cleanliness of the room left a lot to be desired - the linens had questionable stains, there was mold growing in the bathroom, the floors were gross, and there were stains on the walls. The window also had mold growing in it. The overall room just had a very dated feel to it, which is fine, but it definitely needs a lot of love to get the room clean. The service was fantastic, check in and check out was seamless which is just too bad that the room was so unclean and unpresentable.

The beds were moderately firm and very comfortable, plenty of hot water, provided more shampoo when I requested it. Good layout of desk, wardrobe, television. Nice layout of simple breakfast area. It was restful and quiet when I was there.
