Great location and value
Publié le 14 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayThe boat is very basic but is in a great location not far from the centre of old Amsterdam. (Ignore Diemen as the location). It’s very cheap for Amsterdam which makes up for its basic amenities. You can make use of facilities in nearby cafes and the Public library. The surrounding area is just off the tourist route so you get to see how locals live. Cees was a great host, very accessible and happy to help out and give advice.

Great stay on the canals in Amsterdam
Publié le 21 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayI stayed with 2 of my friends in this cute little boat. We had an amazing time where it was walking distance from the centre. Although there is no running water the host was very friendly and accomodate for us and always made sure we had what we needed. Definitely recommend if you want to stay on an affordable boat in the canals of Amsterdam!!

Thank you Maegan. You were great guests. Just one correction. The boat is in the middle of the old city center ( 100 meters ) from the Scheepvaart Museum (build in 1656) .Its walking distance to the touristic part of the center. Thanks for staying with us .

Lower your expectations
Publié le 19 août 2023 sur HomeAwayIf you're dreaming of staying on a boat in Amsterdam, this is certainly the most affordable. But you get what you pay for; and sometimes not even that. Case in point: This boat is a leaky, mildewed rust bucket. The toilet is dodgy and gross; there's no running water; no good solution for showering (we ended up buying a day pass at Sportcity for 10 euros, about 500m away); the wiring is sketchy; and, when negotiating the bike lock on the front door, either you or it is in danger of falling into the canal. The host was confrontational with my companion when she tried to address some of these issues. Really this place caused a lot of stress that took away from our trip. On the positive side, it's in a pretty good location and the sleeping berth is actually pretty cozy. Although the blankets they give you don't cover two people.

Best decision we ever made
