Unique Peaceful Houseboat next to the city center

Our houseboat is an authentic houseboat, located very close to the city center of Amsterdam. From our home you will have an amazing view over the water, you will be very close to the canals and the hot spots of the Jordaan but at the same time very relaxed and quiet.

SPECIFICATIONS:
This 28 meter houseboat has been completely renovated and has some key features: an amazing view over the water, a large living area with open kitchen (including Quooker!), a 5 * bed (extra-long) which can be electronically adjusted to your own preferences, a bathroom including bathtub with view over the water or shower while watching the stars. The boat is fully equipped, extremely comfortable, and a unique experience to live at least once in your life!

In the morning, the sun will shine through the characteristic round windows. The sun will dance on the ceiling when you are slowly waking up. Swans and other birds will pass by to say Hi! Make a cup or tea or coffee or enjoy your breakfast on the deck terrace. You will be surprised by the fantastic view, neighbors and beautiful environment.

In the evening, you will be surprised by the amazing sunset, reflecting on the water and the Silodam. Take an evening shower or bath while looking at the stars or the shimmering light on the water.

The houseboat is moored in a historical area with other unique houseboats inhabited by unique people. We all share the same vision: we love to live on the water and are respectful to nature. We are humble and help each other whenever help is needed.

Please do not book our houseboat when you are not interested in or respectful of our way of life.

Nice but not for us.

What I always like to know from a review is, “would you stay there again?” Unfortunately, the answer for this property/listing is a “No.” We are an early/mid 50s couple who found this a bit to “rustic.” There was nothing overtly wrong with the space, it was just a bit more rustic than we imagined – sort of like an RV / Camping. The room is actually a section at the stern of the boat – which is divided into 3 living spaces. The room in which the toilet is located shares a very thin wall with the boat’s owner space – the bedroom I believe - as you are able to hear their pillow talk while sitting on the toilet (a bit unnerving to thing what they hear.) The shower requires you to use a floor squeegee after, as it goes all over the rest of that space. It is virtually impossible to cook a meal (no kitchen area at all.) Since the boat is on the water – we are sailors, fyi – it does have that damp and musty smell. The bed while usable is basically a futon mattress on top of a framed structure. We spent one night on the boat to give it a chance, and we checked-into a hotel the next day for the remaining part of stay (best decision.) When we told the owner we were leaving, this was his response (quoted from WhatsAp,) “Ahwww im (sic) sorry to hear that.” Sums up our impression and stay. If you are over 40 and used to a bit more, I would not book this property.

Fabulous location on the canal

What a lovely treat to stay on board a boat whilst visiting Amsterdam for the weekend. Beautifully decorated with everything we needed for our stay. Only half hour into the centre with plenty of shops and restaurants near by. Easy check in. Thoroughly recommend.

‱ Das Hausboot war in einem schmutzigen Zustand. Wir mussten erst selbst eine ganze Stunde lang notdĂŒrftig sauber machen. Staub, Dreck, und zahlreiche Haare in allen Ecken sind inakzeptabel - erst recht zu dem Preis und vor allem zu Corona-Zeiten. ‱ Anders als in der Beschreibung ist das Bett kein „5-Sterne Extra Large“ Bett mit „elektronischer Anpassungsmöglichkeit“, sondern nur eine durchgelegene Matratze auf einem Holzpodest. ‱ Wir konnten das Objekt nicht verlassen, da ein TĂŒrschloss fehlte. ‱ Am Waschbecken gab es kein Warmwasser - geschweige denn kochendes Wasser (Quooker, wie beschrieben). ‱ Geschirr und Kaffeemaschine waren ebenfalls verdreckt. ‱ Der WasserbehĂ€lter an der Kaffeemaschine stank. ‱ Das gesamte Objekt hatte einen vermoderten Geruch von Feuchtigkeit. ‱ Rauchmelder, Kohlenmonoxid-Melder und Erste Hilfe Box - wie angegeben - fehlten. ‱ Die Wand zu den angrenzenden Personal-RĂ€umen war so dĂŒnn, dass man nachts unfreiwillig Zeuge privater GerĂ€usche wurde. Insgesamt ein sehr enttĂ€uschendes und unangenehmes Erlebnis.

Also.. der Check-in war mega kompliziert, jedoch konnte mir der Host telefonisch sofort weiterhelfen können. Das Objekt war kleiner als gedacht und mit nur einer Heizung ĂŒber die Nacht recht kalt. Jedoch war es trotzdem ein schönes Erlebnis und das Ambiente ist super schön. Ich finde den Preis fĂŒr dieses Objekt allerdings nicht angebracht. Die WĂ€nde sind mega dĂŒnn, so dass man jedes Wort von nachbar hören kann konnte. All in All .. kann man machen muss man aber nicht ..

Toller Urlaub, minimale Verbesserungsmöglichkeiten

Tolle Location! Wir hatten vier tolle Tage, wĂ€hrend wir den 30. Geburtstag meiner Freundin gefeiert haben. Es gab lediglich zwei kleine Mankos, die nicht zu Sterne-AbzĂŒgen fĂŒhren, denke ich. 1) Es war nicht so sauber, wie man es sich vielleicht gewĂŒnscht hĂ€tte. 2) Nachts hat der Anker bei leichtem Wellengang wirklich sehr laut an der Außenseite des Schiffs gescheuert. Der Vermieter war auf jeden Fall super freundlich und hilfsbereit, das Schloss in der Eingangsluke war z.B. neu eingebaut und hatte ein paar Macken, die aber sofort behoben wurden. GrundsĂ€tzlich sehr zu empfehlen!

Wunderschönes Hausboot

Das Hausboot sieht aus wie auf den Fotos, es ist super sauber und alles funktioniert einwandfrei. Wenn man Probleme oder Fragen hat, kann man sich jederzeit an den Vermieter wenden und bekommt auch eine schnelle Antwort. Uns hat der Aufenthalt super gut gefallen und wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Hausboot

Leider waren wir ĂŒber die „Sauberkeit“ sehr enttĂ€uscht, denn diese war absolut nicht vorhanden. Haare von GĂ€sten vor uns, grauer Staubfilm auf der Heizung und tote Fliegen in der Schublade unter dem Waschbecken etc. Da wir aber 6 Tage gebucht hatten, haben wir das beste draus gemacht und uns dann doch irgendwann wohl gefĂŒhlt. Es war eine super Erfahrung fĂŒr uns, wĂŒrde es aber nicht mehr machen.

Rust en toch het plezier van de stad

Het appartement op de woonboot heeft alles wat je nodig hebt om Amsterdam te verkennen. Je bent binnen 10min in het centrum van de stad. Wat het appartement ideaal maakt is dat het een unieke locatie is. We hadden echt even vakantie en je kan zelfs zwemmen voor de deur. Wij hebben een fantastische tijd gehad.

Magisch!

Magisch.. dat is hoe mijn vriendin en ik deze prachtige overnachting(en) hebben ervaren! Hoewel je in het drukke Amsterdam bent, zit je in Sjoerd zijn boot in een oase van rust! In deze prachtige boot met stijlvolle kamers voel je je direct thuis. Alles is aanwezig en Sjoerd zorgt ervoor dat het je aan niets ontbreekt. Zijn tip om in de ochtend een duik te nemen vanaf de boot is een gouden tip! Heerlijk schoon zwemwater waardoor je je dag super goed kunt beginnen. Vanaf de locatie loop je gemakkelijk de Jordaan in en zit je direct midden in het centrum. Wij gaan zeker terugkomen naar deze plek!
