Classic early downtown Alaska

Great location to walk Anchorage
Posted Oct. 10, 2024 on HomeAwayThe house definitely had some cool upgrades, like the staircase and the small deck with water views, the kitchen was nice too. The problem came with the bedrooms - each one had a negative for 3 adult couples. I don't think there's ever a place for a Full size bed in a VRBO property, this detail slipped by us and caused problems. The 'up primary' had Weck glass block IN FRONT OF THE SHOWER/TUB when backlit was visible to the den - a ridiculous design feature. The negative to the 'down primary' was lugging 2-week luggage down that beautiful staircase, then it was a bit musty once you got there.

After sharing your feedback with the homeowner, they provided the following response:-The listing does specify that one of the bedrooms includes a full-size bed. While this is clearly noted, we understand the importance of ensuring this detail stands out to help guests make informed decisions. We always encourage guests to carefully review the listing details to ensure the property meets their expectations.-Regarding the glass wall in the living room, it is frosted and not see-through; at most, shadows may be visible. Additionally, the wall is three inches thick, providing further privacy.-As for the downstairs area, it is indeed a finished basement, which may have a slightly musty scent due to Alaska’s unique climate. However, this is quite typical for the region and nothing excessive.We are committed to providing every guest with the best possible stay and look forward to welcoming many more satisfied guests to this property, as reflected in both our previous and recent reviews.

Great Property and Location

Perfect location, within walking distance to downtown shopping and great restaurants as well as the Tony Knowles Coastal trail. Hoping to visit again, and if so, we would love to stay there again!

Charming Little House
Posted Aug. 12, 2024 on HomeAwayWe all loved this house. It’s an old house but well maintained with all the modern conveniences. Quirky little things throughout the house….an opening in one bedroom overlooking the beautiful spiral staircase, tissue and toothbrush holders installed in the wall in one bathroom. Very neat fireplace in the living room and a wood-burning fireplace in the downstairs bedroom (although we didn’t use it). The host was very accommodating when we asked if we could drop our bags prior to check in so we didn’t have to lug them around. Thanks for a great stay!

Great House Near Downtown
Posted Jul. 29, 2024 on HomeAwayWonderful house in great location. House itself is older but has been extensively renovated with a new kitchen and three new bathrooms. Bright and vibrant decor, nice view of the inlet. Very close to coastal trail and many other area attractions. Highly recommend!

Great house and location!
