Nice place, terrible property management

While the property is fine and in a good location, there are some major drawbacks that I must warn about. I messaged the host for two days before she responded with check-in details just a few hours before we arrived. Once there, the door code did not work and it took myself and two VRBO employees 45 minutes to get in contact with the property manager. VRBO said they called 3 different numbers and then gave me a number to text on top of that before we were able to get in touch with her. The second night, the apartment got to 77 degrees and kept pumping out heat even after we turned both thermostats off. Turns out there is a separate HVAC system inside the apartment that we had no control over. I messaged the property manager again and she was unhelpful and we resorted to opening windows to bring the temperature down. Also, the shower head is also not entirely screwed on and sprays everywhere. Overall - worst communication I've ever had with a property manager. I wish the owners of the house were the hosts because they were home and likely would've been more helpful and responsive.

Hi Connor, Thank you for providing feedback on your stay in our home. I am so sorry to hear that you did not fully enjoy your stay and will be addressing these issues with our team. With a later check-in, I can understand your frustration with your door code not working. We are working on a better solution for our night shift team to use if this issue arises. I have not seen this issue previously and I am so sorry that it occurred during your check-in. We have long-term tenants staying in the upstairs apartment and it seems they had the HVAC system set to a high temperature and the electric heater in the downstairs unit was on which caused the uncomfortable temperature that you faced in the middle of the night. Moving forward, we will ask that it is kept at a more reasonable temperature, close the connecting vents, and keep our electric heaters off for guests to use as needed. We hope that you allow us to host you in the future to show that we have used this feedback to improve our guest satisfaction.

Apartment style stay below a nice house minimalist

The apartment is in the "basement" of the house. The house itself and the Property are very pretty. The inside had to be accessed through the garage but you can walk right in without going up or down any stairs. The washer and dryer in the hallway work very well. In the room the microwave is new and works. There is also a towel fan and portable room heater. I did not find any central air conditioning controls although there were vents in the rooms. The rooms were cold but the portable heater,and the built in restroom heater did the trick. Fridge and freezer worked, the only other cooking option is a portable single burner electric stovetop . Stayed with my wife and our 9 year old son. The bed is mediocre, and the couch has a pull out section to turn the couch itself into a bed style platform. I slept on it the second night because I couldn't get comfortable in the bed. Had basically everything we needed in a pretty location. Boston was a 30 minute drive... That's if you don't get hit with the mean drivers. (I'm from Texas and I've never seen such mean drivers) very agressive, Boston probably has the number one worst traffic situation in my book right now. Thanks for offering a nice place at a hotel rate! Almost thought it was too good to be true. Owner was very responsive to messages.
