Come stay at "Log Cabin Hideaway" in Angel Fire, New Mexico. This classic log home sits majestically on the mountain, giving you breathtaking views of the forest and mountains no matter where you are standing on any of the wrap-around decks. Featuring a beautiful free-standing wood-burning stove, wrap-around outdoor decks, outdoor grill, and hot tub as well as a cozy interior with plenty of room to spread out and relax, this home is sure to be a winner for your next getaway. All of this comes with tons of privacy and a remote feeling, while also providing you with access to the ski runs just over a half mile away, where you can walk to the mountain and ski down or you can drop off your group of skiers right at the side of the Texas Flats green run. In addition, it’s only a 15-minute drive away from the Angel Fire resort base area featuring world-class mountain biking and skiing and from the center of town. You will enjoy have many breathtaking views on your drive there as you wind your way up the mountain to the house. Upon arrival, you're very likely to be greeted by elk and/or deer who are regular visitors around the property. Because of the very secluded setting, 2 wheel drive vehicles with metal chains, all wheel drive vehicles or 4 wheel drive vehicles should be considered REQUIRED in the winter.

This house is part of the Mountain Serenity Rentals group, an elite group of family-owned properties providing the absolute best of what Angel Fire has to offer. Mountain Serenity Rentals is a small but mighty team started by husband and wife duo Eric and Cheryl in 2006. What began with one house and a small dream has since grown into our true passion: offering families from all over the opportunity to make memories in the mountains in beautiful, clean, up-to-date, and well-maintained homes. At Mountain Serenity Rentals, we intentionally market only a handful of properties so we can provide the highest level of service. We believe you deserve all the things you need for a great stay, and don’t want to nickle and dime you for them. Our homes are stocked with firewood for fireplaces and fire pits, propane for gas grills, detergent for laundry machines, and all the basics for kitchens and bathrooms. If you are ever missing something during your stay, don’t hesitate to reach out! We have gathered a tremendous amount of knowledge over the years, but actively value feedback from our guests so we can continue to improve and provide excellence.

Here are some highlights of the property itself that we know you'll love:

** Location, location, location – the drive to the property is straight up El Camino from the Angel Fire Mountain base, providing a level of seclusion rivaled by few other rentals in the area. This provides a great opportunity to see the broad and diverse wildlife that is unique to Angel Fire. To most safely navigate this drive in the winter months 4 wheel drive vehicles are highly recommended/required.

** The house has privacy, it is surrounded by trees, and situated up the mountain at a magnificent elevation, and yet has easy access to all of the places you'll want to go in Angel Fire. The ski lift is just 5 miles down the road, 7 miles to the country club, with golf, tennis, a restaurant, a playground, and more, and just 4 miles from Monte Verde Lake.

** The house comfortably sleeps 10 across 3 bedrooms and a kids' bunk room, making it ideal for 2 to 3 families traveling together, or one larger group. The bedrooms include a main suite with a King bed and attached bathroom, another King bedroom on the upper floor, and a Queen bedroom on the lower level. Additionally, on the lower-level, there is a kids' bunk room with 2 sets of twin bunk beds.

** Get away from the big city and relax in the mountains. Have your morning coffee or evening beverage on one of the wrap-around decks, cozy up inside and play cards by the wood stove, or soak your tired muscles in the hot tub. It's all here waiting for you.

** The house is fully stocked with everything you could need for your stay. In each bathroom, we provide linens and towels, shampoo, body wash, and a hair dryer. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the pots, pans, and other cooking utensils you need, as well as paper towels, napkins, spices, olive oil, dish soap, and dishwashing detergent. All you need to buy is the food! We also have a laundry room with detergent provided for the washer, just in case your mountain adventures get messy!

BEDROOMS/SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS/BATHROOMS:

The main floor is home to the main suite, complete with a king bed and an attached bathroom. The bathroom has a shower and a huge soaking tub for you to enjoy. On the top floor is another King bedroom with a vaulted ceiling and beautiful views of the surrounding property. On the lower level, you'll find a Queen bedroom with french doors opening out to the rear of the property. All three bedrooms have smart TVs and ample closet space to make yourself at home. Finally, on the lower level, there is a kids' bunk area where you will find 2 sets of twin-over-twin bunk beds as well as space for the kids to hang out and get some alone time. This area also has a TV with DVD player and Wii player with various games and remotes. There are 3 full-size bathrooms in the house, one on each floor for ease and convenience. Bedrooms and bathrooms are fully stocked with pillows, linens/blankets, towels, toilet paper, shampoo and body wash, hair dryers, and hand soap.

LIVING AREAS:

Your group will enjoy spreading out in this cozy log cabin. The main floor is the heart of the home, with a main living area, comfy sofas to curl up on, and a wood-burning stove. On the upper floor, there is a loft sitting area with plenty of room for the adults (or kids) to spread out, read a book, play games, watch videos, or just relax. Additionally, the kids' bunk area provides yet another place for the kids to get some space and time of their own.

KITCHEN/DINING

Creating and eating meals together is another great way to create great family memories and this home provides everything you need. Our kitchen features stainless appliances, a stovetop, oven, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, coffee makers (regular and Keurig), blender, griddle, and crockpot. All plates, glassware, baking/cookware, pots, pans, and utensils are provided. In addition, we have a cabinet with olive oil, flour, sugar, and spices to get you started. And on the outdoor deck is a gas grill which can be accessed year-round under the covered areas of the deck.

There is a dining room table with seats for 6 to 8 and a counter with bar stools that seats 4, perfect for having an adult table and a kid's table.

ENTERTAINMENT OUTDOORS:

Outside, we strive to provide the setting for fun family memories. Relax outside on our wrap-around decks, great in spring, summer, and fall for having coffee in the morning or happy hour in the afternoon. Enjoy the sounds of nature while the kids play in the yard in the cool summer temperatures. Soak in the hot tub! There's a grill on the deck, and because of the covered deck area, it is great for grilling year-round. In the winter, our yard is perfect for snowmen and snowball fights.

ENTERTAINMENT INDOORS:

When you're done playing outside, come in and relax! There is a smart TV in the upstairs loft, as well as in the main floor living space, and in each of the bedrooms. Great for catching a movie or game together, or just keeping up with your favorite shows from bed. The house has high-speed internet and wifi throughout for all of your devices as well.

ENTRYWAY/LAUNDRY

Enter the house through the front door with our keyless lock. Inside the entry, there's a large hall closet for coats and rubber mats for boots. On the lower level of the property, there is a laundry area with a washer and dryer and space to lay out wet clothes. The laundry area comes equipped with detergent and dryer sheets.

PARKING:

The driveway leads down from the road to the front of the house and forks to access the side and rear of the house, providing more than ample parking for several vehicles. During the winter, however, the plows will not tend to the side or back of the house areas, so parking will be restricted to the front portion of the drive. The garage is not available for guests to use.

As noted above, we highly recommend 4-wheel drive for staying at this property and would consider it required in the winter months.

Note: for your protection and ours, we have security cameras that monitor the exterior entry points at the front and the rear of the house.
