Rough start. Happy ending

Beginning started out a little annoying. Check in was easy but wasnt communicated until a half hour after we were able to be there and had to call for the code.
Walking in, the floor didnt look vacuumed and beds looked unmade/slept in. We spent the first hour remaking beds (clean sheets were in the dryer), vacuuming (we have a crawler who puts everything in her mouth), and getting rid of all the daddy long legs that were posted up towards the ceiling.
All in all I assume whoever cleaned the house, was maybe a student with a summer job who did a once over and was like "meh looks good."
Besides that 1st hour, the place held its purpose. We hung out, went to the beach, made a few meals and had family come hang out. The kitchen was well stocked as well as the bathroom.
The tv didnt work, or maybe we just couldnt figure it out. Next time we'd bring a roku for the kids. We were mostly out and the kids have tablets so we dodged that bullet. Thankful for wifi.
Just to make it clear, this house was great for us. We're very laidback and our kids could care less as long as they have a bed to sleep in and dresser to put their clothes in. My oldest did mention not having anywhere to hang her dresses..so yea the accuracy with not having to hang anything is valid.
After a 14hr drive the downside was having to clean for that first hour. Other than that, it was a good spot and housed us for the few days we were there.

Good location overall, just a bit further from the beach than I originally thought given the location spot on map. Owner was accommodating and responded quickly. Would definitely stay again

Beautiful from Far, Stinky & dirty close up

This house was not cleaned for months.
Starting from entrance all dirty and stained seats, filthy BBQ, used many times and not cleaned.
Bed sheets were stinky and full of bristle body hair and just white blanket over it which was full of yellow stains.
we went and bought our own sheets and pillows without using their blankets.
couldn't shower since the bath tub was filthy.
Same as pots and pans were all scratched and used without being washed left in the cupboards.

Needs…towels racks in bathroom, somewhere to hang clothes in bedroom as there are no closets, end tables with lamps in living room and bedrooms, grille that is functional. The owner was unresponsive about a problem with the refrigerator, even after contacting him several times. So we where without use of ice maker, constantly annoyed by refrigerator motor, frozen food was covered in ice, and we where fearful it would fail at anytime.

Publié le 5 sept. 2021 sur HomeAwayEverything as expected. TV, bed, kitchen, bathroom are great. Very convenient parking, access. Coffee pot is a keurig only. But plenty of coffee pods are supplied.
