It was really a pleasure having Christian and is girlfriend at Canário do Mar. They first booked for 3 days but then decide to stay 2 more. They were always really nice and I really hope to have them as guests again back soon. Haja saúde!

It was really a pleasure having Christian and is girlfriend at Canário do Mar. They took great care of the house and were always very friendly, they even helped to get the right GPS coordinates for the house :) Really hope to have them as guests again back soon. Haja saúde!

Amazing and Authentic!
Publié le 9 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayLocated in a quiet area, semi rural, outside of the main town of Angra, this peaceful oasis did not disappoint. The house is beautifully restored with modern touches, but still authentic. Very clean, everything one needs, and located right on the sea, with a very nice walking/running trail that we enjoyed. We did lots of hiking and diving while here, and this little house is a perfect base for that. Loved eating outside, just listening to the waves. We thank our kind host, who has done such a nice job restoring this place. We would highly recommend, and we have traveled a lot!

Beyond Expectation! ***
Publié le 23 oct. 2022 sur HomeAwayWe were overly pleased with our stay and the accommodations. The home has so much character and beautifully finished. It’s immaculately clean, beautiful setting, amazing views, friendly village, very comfortable and homey.
They have thought of everything. Right down to a great hair dryer. We will definitely stay here again if we are blessed to return to the island and advise others of this home.
Fernando was the consummate host he even helped us with our ticket we got on the first day of arrival. He was quick to respond with every need and question. He was truly a genuine, pleasant host.
Thank you Fernando !!! We truly had a wonderful experience and time.

Excellent house on the shore

An absolute joy to stay here and the host is very helpful and the welcome was excellent. Location is ok, Angra is 15 min drive, two nice restaurants are in walking distance

Canario do Mar. Uma casa com alma.
Publié le 14 sept. 2020 sur HomeAwayFrente ao mar, com uma vista única sobre o ilhéu das Cabras, a casa do Canário é um lugar excepcional para descansar e saborear as especialidades açorianas ao pôr do sol.
Casinha antiga, completamente equipada e renovada com muito gosto e um enorme cuidado nos mínimos pormenores. Decoração bem escolhida, iluminação bem pensada, espaço limpíssimo e jardim cuidado. É um prazer voltar "a casa" depois de visitar a ilha, ou ficar simplesmente a descansar, ler e passear no caminho pedestre junto ao mar, em frente à casa.
Um mezanino aconchegante pode ser um encanto para as crianças.
Parabéns Fernando, a sua casa proporcionou-me uns dias fabulosos. Apesar de conhecer bem a Terceira é a primeira vez que me senti verdadeiramente em casa e com vontade de voltar.

The house is very beautiful, fully equipped and furnished with great love to detail. It is situated in a quiet location with a terrace offering an amazing view to the sea and to the small islands Ilhéus das Cabras. There is a private parking area on the premises, too.
Fernando is a very caring host who does everything possible to make his guests feel at home. We did not have the opportunity to meet him personally but his sister came round for check-in and provided much valuable information. In addition we met his father who takes care of the private vineyard adjoining the house.
Canário do Mar is one of the best holiday houses we ever had. Since our expectations were exceeded, our rating is 6 out of 5 stars.

Fernando was so helpful prior to our trip, responding to all of my questions about the island really promptly with great advice. The cottage is pristine and beautifully appointed and the view is absolutely incredible. It was also a nice touch that the housekeeper came mid way through our stay to freshen up and that she and Fernando left us fresh fruit, cheese, and bread. I highly recommend Canario do Mar. if you’re thinking about staying here, make sure to schedule some down time just to sit on the terrace and enjoy the view.

Beautiful Home & Amazing Hospitality
Publié le 14 août 2018 sur HomeAwayWhat a wonderful stay! We called Canário do Mar our home for a week and a half and could not be happier with our decision.
Perhaps what sets Canánio do Mar apart the most is the host, Fernando. He was so responsive throughout our booking process and during our stay. He checked in every few days to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast items were provided and refreshed throughout our stay. He made sure we had things our family would enjoy!
Regarding the house itself, of course, being right on the water, the view can't be beat. The patio was the perfect place to relax and listen to the waves. The remodel is absolutely beautiful and really highlights the historic aspects of the home. With all the available storage space we were really able to settle in and feel at home.
The kitchen is very well stocked with appliances, cookware, and utensils. Having a young son this was important to us. We loved the special touches in the pantry, such as homemade tea and granola!
We are so glad that we chose to stay here during our time on the island and would absolutely stay again!
