Peaceful,Spectacular house on Beautiful Lake
Publié le 25 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis was an amazing property! We kept commenting how the house was so well designed to fully appreciate the beautiful lake. It was amazing! The living room, sun room, kitchen and dining room all took advantage of fantastic views. Though in a neighborhood, we felt like it was in the country. Everything was wonderful - from the beds to the space, to the views, to the quiet setting. Couldn't have been better!

Best fall weekend getaway

Waking up and having coffee overlooking the lake… late nights playing pool. Comfortable beds. Couldn’t have asked for a better trip and will be coming back for sure!

Spacious lakefront property

Cockroaches and safety issues
Publié le 18 août 2024 sur HomeAwayThe biggest concern with this property is that there is a large cockroach infestation. We saw live cockroaches in the kitchen sink drains, on the countertops, cupboards, drawers, dishwasher etc. There were cockroach traps in upstairs bedrooms. I contacted owner immediately with my concerns of uncleanliness and asked if they had cockroaches. He said he was unavailable and did not comment on the cockroach infestation until we shared that we were unable to stay due to infestation and safety concerns. He then shared that he was aware a previous guest had brought in cockroaches.
In addition to the cockroaches, the house had not been cleaned before we arrived. The refrigerator was very dirty, floors were sticky and had food crumbs and dirt, rugs and carpets had not been vacuumed, etc.
Throughout the property there were also multiple safety concerns a few of them are:
1. The deck railing was coming apart in corners; multiple spindles were missing from railing leaving a large gap where child or dog could fall through; Multiple floor boards on stairs and deck moved when stepped on
2. Handles on patio doors in kitchen and sunroom were broken and missing the handle to open door.
3. The only smoke detector on main level was missing. It was hardwired so appeared to be intentionally removed.
I would not recommend anyone stay at this property.

We're sorry you had such an unfortunate experience. Your experience is unique. Our opinion is that your review is exaggerated and mostly unsubstantiated. After your stay we immediately brought in a pest control service. Our pest control service told us that there was no sign of an infestation as you suggested. Our home has never been in the mess that you are suggesting. Regardless we honored your request and gave you a 100% refund. Our host rating with VRBO has been, and continues to be excellent. We believe that our long list of excellent reviews speaks for itself.

Good Value
Publié le 2 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWe enjoyed being on a small, quiet lake. The house layout worked well for us - 6 adults and 6 kids ages 8, 7, 6, 4, 3 and 2 months. It was easy for the children to go into and out from the lake, which is shallow. The neighborhood was quiet, and the house is close to grocery stores. We felt the house was a good value for the price.

Antioch Getaway

Unfortunately we experienced disappointment from the time we opened the door and house was not clean smelled like dogs floors were dirty, windows dirty, frig had items in it and was not clean, very dusty throughout house, garbage cans in garage were full, understand it’s a lake house but unexceptional in many ways compared to photos on line( need them updated), no welcome sign with WiFi access. Outside deck was very run down with numerous areas damaged to the point we put chairs over it, railing around deck weak, stairs going down to backyard were broken and had been cabled to stay together overall deck very unsafe. I’m not a negative person but this was definitely overpriced for what it actually was vs. advertised. We left it better than we found it!
