The rennovated, elegant, 4-bedroom Villa Rouga is located in the area of Apokoronas, in the traditional village of Xirosterni. This magnificent Villa is designed in 3 levels covering 320 sq. m., and it is ideal for lovers of nature and Cretan hospitality. A special place to stay, with panoramic views of the Cretan Sea, built with natural materials with a private pool of 55 sq. m. It is located 5 km away from the sandy beach of Almirida, and 28 km away from the beautiful town of Chania.

On the ground floor of the Villa Rouga, two separate bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms with shower and whirlpools are provided. Both contemplate the beauty that lies in front of them, from their own private terraces next to the pool. The ground floor also has a small kitchen and a cellar that hosts wines produced by the owners. On the same level, all guests can enjoy a gym with one treadmill speed, two interior bicycles, a sauna, and a few small weights.

A lovely, sea view, open plan living room with fireplace and a smart Satellite TV is provided on the upper floor. A fully-equipped kitchen, with a wooden dining table in retro-modern mood profil, a refrigerator, a microwave, an espesso coffee maker and all the kitchen utensils is available. Next to the living room you can enjoy a lovely veranda with a dining table and panoramic countryside and sea views. Wireless internet is provided everywhere.

A small wooden staircase leads to another double bedroom with a large, comfortable double bed and a private bathroom with shower and whirpool. On the top floor of the villa, the master bedroom with a double bed, an ensuite bathroom with shower and a revelation is provided. A large terrace with an outdoor jacuzzi for four people and panoramic views is offered!

All guests can enjoy a unique holiday experience, since the Villa Rouga is an ideal base for excursions to the nearby villages of Almirida, Kalives, Obrosgialos and Kera, where you can enjoy beaches with clear blue waters, some nightlife and many choices of Cretan cuisine.

Perfect!
The perfect week in this beautiful villa. Plenty of room for us all - 7 adults and a 6 month old baby. Views to die for, comfy beds, great aircon, lovely sun loungers, heated pool and a 10 minute drive into Almyrida which has plenty of restaurants and bars on the beach. There is a handy shop walkable from the villa for all the essentials. Vasilis couldn’t have been more helpful. We will be back!

Villa Rouga - Zuhause im Urlaub!
Wir haben uns in der Villa super wohl gefühlt. Die hohen Decken, die sanften Farben und die Sauberkeit garantieren einen wunderbaren Urlaub. Nicht nur die Größe, sondern auch der Pool waren perfekt geeignet für uns 6 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder. Der Besitzer war immer erreichbar, und gab uns super Tipps für Unternehmungen in der Umgebung. Die Villa liegt nahe an einem Strand und Tavernen. Ein privater Chef und professionelle Massage kann gebucht werden. Danke für diese tollen Tage, wir kommen wieder!

A Family Paradise
This was our most relaxing holiday ever - a beautifully equipped villa - the most comfortable mattresses - set in a small village overlooking real Crete - farms, grapes and olives and views of the sea. Everything about this holiday was perfect - 10 minutes from the Sea - lovely villages and only 40 minutes from Chania. Great pool, fantastic gym, living space with a bedroom and ensuite shower room (voted best considered space for disability in 20 villa rentals by my mother) all on one floor. The wood fired oven and the local English butcher made an afternoon's entertainment and delicious Rib of Beef. Villa Rouga is a house made to create memories for all generations, Vassilis an amazing host and we can't wait to go back

In a word: Fabulous!!!
Although we encountered some technical difficulties working through VRBO, the owner Mr Georgilas was extremely accommodating and facilitating in helping get us this location for the last few days our our Cretan vacation, and it was the best ending to an overall fabulous trip! The property itself is exactly what you'd be looking for to escape. Impeccably clean and well maintained and manicured, this villa is nestled in a sleepy village overlooking some fabulous olive groves in the hills just south east of Chania. The house fabulously laid out to provide privacy for families or groups but not so much as one feels too distant from the 'action'. It has a games room and exercise facility to work off the calories incurred from outings sampling the local cuisine. It is very well outfitted with modern appliances and technology, if you have demanding young adults. There is a shop and Resturant within walking distance if you aren't keen to drive and if you are, most everything is available within a 10 minute drive. Although not completely convenient to get to the beach, (8 min by car) we were perfectly content to lounge by large heated pool. You will likely want a car for this villa as I didn't see public transportation convenient to the village. We LOVED staying at this villa and if there is one negative about the experience, it is that we didn't stay there long enough. If we are lucky enough to get back to Crete in the near future, we will remedy that regret and book this villa again, guaranteed!

Highly recommended villa even better than the photos. Great vibe, settled in a very peaceful village and everything like beaches,restaurants,markets are very close. A Place to be
A beautiful house, well equipped and with everything for relaxation. Situated in a small and quiet village with beautiful view into the mountains and the bay of Kefalos. Nice sunset:-) we hired a car and were in short rides at the beaches or in plenty of good restaurants. Wish we could be there again soon!!

Amazing place, host and location. Couldn’t have asked for more
We were a group of 9- me and my husband and our 2 children, my sister and her 2 children and parents. Children aged 15-5. Regular contact-from the host. Greeted by 2 lovely cleaners. Basket of local goodies. Clean mid-week. The villa is everything you see in the pictures and more! Couldn’t recommend it enough. Lots to do around the villa-relaxing by the pool on the warmer days. Or gym/sauna/hot tub on the colder days. Everyone had a amazing time. Can’t wait to go back if I get the chance again

Excellent villa
We have stayed in many VRBO properties and in this case the property actually lives up to the promise of the photos. It is a spacious and very stylish property in an old village in an interesting semi-rural location. It easily accommodates 8 people in considerable comfort both inside and outside. Given the location, a car is obviously a necessity for supermarket access and longer journeys, although there are a number of nearby villages within easy distance that offer excellent traditional Cretan fare. The owner, Vasilis, is easily contacted and responsive. Highly recommended. Neil

We all loved property and location. Area is peaceful but still accessible to touristy sites. Sitting eating and swimming pool areas are all beautiful and relaxing. No doubt I would stay here again and would recommend this place to anyone going to chania.

Two weeks is not long enough in this wonderful villa
We were 3 couples staying in this amazing villa which was spacious, beautiful contemporary furnishings and worked very well for us. Our villa did indeed overlook the White Mountains and gave us a glorious view everyday whilst you could also see down to the bay and the twinkling lights at night. We have rented many houses over the years and this swimming pool has been the best one yet, crystal clear water, lovely to swim in with steps going gradually into the water. There were many different areas in the villa to sit and enjoy the views, we did enjoy the jacuzzi at night and everyday sat on the veranda eating our breakfast or dinner and this was a particularly spacious and pleasant area. We found the village quiet and peaceful and did indeed hear the goats and donkeys as they were moved or fed. The village shop was excellent and you could buy most things there. We found fantastic tavernas in the local villages particularly Arismari in Gavalohori and To Yaladiko in Kokkino Chorio - these should not be missed for a fantastic dinner, atmosphere and incredibly friendly service. We had the most amazing visit to the Palace of Knossos and organised an English speaking guide there which truly brought this palace to life for us - we paid 80 euros for that and worth every euro! We also went to the Botanical Gardens south of Chania and on a Monday evening they have Greek music and dancing there with a buffet (amazing 20 euros) - what a great evening that was. Thank you Vasilis for having such an amazing villa which we never wanted to leave, we could not have asked for anything else it was perfection! Christine

True retreat in authentic Greek village
Mountain retreat with all the amenities that one experiences in a luxury resort-welcome basket with Crete specialties, robes, plush towels, soaps, housekeeping, and more. Minutes from beaches, tavernas, bakeries and markets. We thoroughly enjoyed Crete using Villa Rouga as our launching pad, including making a dinner on the wood fire grill at the Villa with all local ingredients. We used the sauna, hot tub, the pool, ping pong table, and thoroughly enjoyed the sunset over the mountains and sea from the terrace.

Zeer complete luxe villa met veel sfeer. Mooi aangelegde tuin met fijn zwembad.
Mei 2018. Villa ligt in een rustiek grieks dorp met op loopafstand kleine compleet ingerichte minisupermarkt. Alles is precies zo gaaf als de foto's tonen. We hebben buiten pizza gebakken in de houtoven. Heerlijke tijd gehad in en om het huis. Zeker aan te raden om het zwembad te laten verwarmen tegen wat extra kosten. Mooie natuur, leuke dorpjes, mooie stranden, blauwe zee. Chania is prachtig. Wel een auto huren.

The villa is very spacious and well appointed with everything you need for a quiet relaxing holiday. We had a lovely week and particularly enjoyed the new pool heating. Not cheap but worth it for the hours of enjoyment it gave the kids.

Your own secret luxury hideaway in a typical Cretan village
I was given a list of requirements by a group of demanding friends for our villa holiday and Villa Rouga was the only one to tick every box. The beautiful location with stunning views of the mountains and sea is matched by the charm and character of the villa, designed and equipped to the highest possible standard - everything you could wish for is here. The pool is kept heated to a comfortable temperature (by heater not solar),a jacuzzi, a sauna , a gym, luxurious beds with top quality Italian sheets, modern bathrooms and an attentive staff keeping everything pristine - what more could you ask for?.........to come back again, of course!

This villa is simply stunning.
This was our second visit to Villa Rouga and it did not disappoint. My partner has never before stayed in the same place twice and she is well travelled. Safe to say we will be returning again. Breathtaking views from the top floor open air hot tub looking at the mountain and sea view. We past one week in this amazing villa in Crete. The location is great, nesr the little Vamos town. The house is wonderful, you can feel the love in it. We did few beaches around and enjoyed Crete city. Vasilis organised on pur request two nights with chef Stefano. It was perfect !

We loved the area and the guide prepared, helped us find some brilliant restaurants and locations to make our holiday perfect.
