Posted Dec. 15, 2024 on HomeAwayEverything people say is true -rustic, beautiful views, remote but close to activities, spectacular beach with access a short 5 minute walk, clean, well stocked, comfortable beds, wonderful ocean sounds, warm fireplace. If you want a Wolf gas range and Ann Sachs tile in your kitchen then you’ll be sorely disappointed. If you want to feel like the host has wrapped you in a well worn blanket of love then you will be very happy.

Oregon Coast gem

Dreamy coastal cabin
Posted Nov. 19, 2024 on HomeAwayI stayed at the home for three nights with two friends. All of us have spent a lot of time on the coast and in that specific area/community. There are definite pros and cons to this house.
Pros:
The views from the windows are amazing. You are nestled in the trees and yet with a great view of the beach and ocean. If it's raining out... just light a fire and sit back with a book. The beds are comfortable. The furniture is fine. The kitchen has plenty of pans/knives/etc. The house was very clean. It's a wonderful peaceful location.
Cons:
There was a strong musty/mildew smell when entering the house and it was even stronger on the lower level with the bedrooms. I can't imagine this is an issue during the dry months but we've had a very wet November and the house smelled as if there were some air exchange from under the house into the house itself.

Hi Michael,
Thank you for letting us know. We had our furnace replaced with a brand new wonderful heat pump. It’s a little complicated to find the settings that are best between renters. We are trying to find the correct temperature to balance with the wet winter weather. We are meeting with the contractor this Monday to inspect and train us on the best practices for heat pumps in our climate. Our goal is to have it set to keep it warm and dry at all times.

great location, wonderful owner response, rundown property

However entered to receive a extreme musty smell. We started to get headaches and scratchy throats. The interior has very rundown floors, furniture and other items. There were no screens on windows and some were cracked. We could barely see through the windows. Owner responded right away to my text, was very apologetic and refunded my monies right away. This place needs lots of renovation before we would stay here.

I am so so sorry this visit was difficult compared to your prior visits. In your last visit you asked for new deck furniture so I did purchase four new chairs and two side tables this summer. I thought you had a good suggestion then to seat more people. I am not sure what has changed in the house since your last stay. We arrived immediately after you checked out to see the condition and views from the windows. Was there a rainstorm prior to your stay? I did not see any problems. Also the window screens were on the windows. I am not finding anything different from your last stay. We will start leaving our brand new heat pump on a higher setting in between renters but we did not find the house to feel or smell musty after you left. Hmmmm I hope your new accommodations are a good fit for you. Thank you Tracy

Cozy home in a stunning setting!
Posted Sep. 22, 2024 on HomeAwaySuch a lovely well-loved home in a stunning setting! The house was cozy with a well-equipped kitchen and very comfortable beds. It's a perfect getaway for anyone, especially those who love a rustic house perched on a forested cliff with lots of windows that overlook the wild Pacific. Arch Cape is a great location, close to the cute town of Cannon Beach and several beautiful state parks with terrific hiking.

Yes the hikes from our beach house are plentiful and amazing! The Pacific Coast Trail leads you from our community to Short Sands beach. Sometimes I use the All Trails App and find numerous trails nearby including the Neahkahnie hike.

Arch Cape Gem
Posted Sep. 18, 2024 on HomeAwayThis is the second time my friends and I have stayed at the Livermore house. We had such a wonderful time we already booked for next year! This house has everything you could ever want in a vacation home at the beach, minus a tv which in my opinion makes it all the better. We fully utilized the completely stocked kitchen for most of our meals. The beach is a very short walk and we love the beach nearby. We went to Ecola park and hiked down to the beach as well as Hug Point. The house has plenty of room and is so welcoming. The host is very quick to respond and no issues whatsoever with check in or out. I can't recommend this house more highly!

Magical Cabin in the Woods
Posted Sep. 7, 2024 on HomeAwayThe Livermore Cabin is exactly as pictured and described. Rustic, cozy, warm, and familiar vibes throughout the property. Lots of special touches, like the original site map, the fantastically-stocked kitchen, and the memorial to departed family members.
Centrally located between Cannons Beach and Manzanita, this sylvan sanctuary was the perfect home base for my cousins and I to enjoy all the sights of the coast and enjoy amazing sunsets while tucked up next to a crackling fire.
Offshore Grill has the best chowder and is definitely worth the drive. Nice little selection of vinyl- mostly classical, but a few pop gems in the mix. Lots of books to read, too, and a piano to play in case the weather isnt cooperative.
We really enjoyed our stay and our rustic Oregon experience in the trees.

Unforgettable

I'll cherish my memories reading books from their library, playing vinyl from their vast collection of classical albums and relishing the beautiful view. I hope to come back soon. Our favorite beach getaway
Posted Aug. 14, 2024 on HomeAwayWe absolutely love this property. The views are spectacular, and the house is quiet and secluded but still close to all the fun in Cannon Beach and Manzanita. The owners are great to work with and keep the house very clean. Also, the beds are very comfortable! We’ve stayed there three years in a row and plan to continue to visit every summer.
