Used coffee cups in dining area...no breakfast...owner said that he would compensate for that but there was no one to check us out the next morning with no compensation...shame that an historic inn is falling through the cracks...I definitely would not stay there again...

Nice place, but proprietor a bit too absent

This is a lovely place in a pleasant setting. Not many activities in the area, and dining options are somewhat limited. We were served a huge breakfast. One problem: the proprietor tended to be unavailable for much of our visit, including when he was needed (such as check-in). If someone had been more available, it would have been a better experience. Also - we were here in the summer. I would not advise coming here in the winter (if they are even open), as the roads are narrow, winding, and a bit hazardous.

Thank you for your review. It is always so helpful to us to improve our customer service. We are working to correct any problems you pointed out . I would only add one thing. Many people come here in the winter we have tobogine sliding and other fun winter sports . The roads are kept very well and accessability is not a problem Thanks again

DO NOT BOOK

This hotel is CLOSED. My fiance and I were headed down to the area for a retirement party and needed a place to stay. As we booked at the last minute (and it was Valentine's Day weekend), most places in the area were booked, but this inn had some rooms available. We booked and when it came time to make our 3-hour drive down, we were met with a paper sign on the door that said the hotel was closed and that we needed to contact the booking agency with any issues. We had no place to stay after making the trip. Perhaps this was an error in not taking the inn off hotels.com, but either way, I will never be using hotels.com again OR booking at this venue.

Do not book at this Inn. It is closed without notifying us until we arrived!!!!

PLease note that we had informed expedia that we were closed for renovations and the winter. Due to a software malfunction they were not properly notified of our closing and for a short period sent us people anyway. We had no way of knowing that they were coming. the owner was in Arizona working on another project and the manager had resigned. We are so very sorry for your inconvenience. rest assured this is not how we normally operate. If you check our other reviews you will see this iis true. Please contact us so we might make it right with you. I understand Expedia found another room and we paid for the cost of it.

This was a really cool place to stay. Even though it is an old building my room was toasty warm and WiFi worked great. Breakfast was great!!

Comfortable Hotel room, the Reception area is very untidy looking. Breakfast and hosts were very nice.
