Nice and quiet place to stay and explore. The location is best to view the beautiful town and lake below. Lots of hiking trails besides the long winding road to and fro Ascona. WiFi is not readily available and tugging suitcase over the cobblestone is a challenge. Breakfast is great.

Nice hotel with gorgeous view on Lago Maggiore
Posted Jul. 12, 2016 on Hotelsvery nice hotel, a car is highly recommended as the hotel is up a steep hill, gorgeous view on Lago Maggiore, breakfast is served on a beautiful terrace, nice breakfast buffet, the lake area (Switzerland and Italy) can be easily explored when staying at the hotel, Locarno is within walking distance, some might prefer a taxi for returning to the hotel

Location: over/above lake Maggiore-- just beautiful-- summer in Ascona Switzerland? Very easy
Fantastic room with views and elevation - quite warm in July 15-17 2015 to 35C without aircon and mosquitoes makes nights very warm- kept windows open and mosquitoes etc - less sleep. Great breakfast on top terrace. Admin staff and all just lovely. Will return.

Not good!

This is a three star hotel and the rooms I was first given were like a youth hostel room, one did not even have a window to look out of. I was moved to a better room after complaining and showing the staff the photographs on the hotels.com website. I still did not get a room as per the pictures.

Tainted by disappointing service
Posted Aug. 21, 2023 on HotelsUnfortunately, this special place appears to be losing its soul. Compared with our last stay, the breakfast was very basic and the service only half-hearted. Worst of all, upon check-out the receptionist deliberately and pejoratively called me "Natasha", which felt as treating me with contempt as a guest. This was very embarassing and unprofessional, and discourages me from visiting this hotel ever again.

Excellent stay, we may come back
Posted Aug. 15, 2023 on HotelsVery nice location. You feel like in a little resort. The rooms looks like an hospital room. Only white with convenience bed. But everything was clean. We have an amazing view on the lake from the balcony.
