Enjoyable and comfortable
Publié le 12 avr. 2019 sur HotelsWe spent an enjoyable and comfortable nights stay at the Station Hotel. The bedroom was spacious and clean and we had a good nights sleep in the large four poster bed. In the morning we were served an excellent full English breakfast.

Hard to understand the many good reviews this has hotel. The photographs and reviews give the impression that it is old but very clean and well appointed but for the price we were very disappointed. I can see how people can describe it as comfortable but it feels old, tired and stale and would need a huge refurbishment and refresh to match the expectations set by the pictures, reviews and price. It is more of a comfortable, budget hotel.
In the end we didn't even stay after checking in, as the friends we were visiting ended up having a spare room available in their holiday rental.
The lady who greeted us was very polite and helpful.

That all seems a little harsh just because I asked you to ask your friends who were not staying in the hotel to move their car out of our courtyard!! I’m sure you are familiar with budget hotels clearly I am confused with your comments.

Traditional old hotel with great space and character. Decor in need of an upgrade but has a friendly, homely feel. Perfect location for the town centre. Reception staff really friendly!

Very good small hotel, beats the 'chain' hotels hands down.
Breakfast was top class
Staff were very polite and helpfull, recommended me to an excellent restaurant nearby for my evening meal.
