Wonderful B&B
Publié le 15 oct. 2023 sur HotelsAdorable house in historic Montford area. We stayed in the Magnolia room. It was very spacious with a comfortable bed and accessible bathroom. Our hostess, Alicia, provided fresh baked snacks and beverages all day long. The breakfast was absolutely delightful - especially the baked apples! There was even a singer on Friday night along with the happy hour. There is a gorgeous pond in back of the main house - just watch your head, as the property features a massic walnut tree and those suckers are heavy!

Good but not great.

No standup shower in the room we were given.
Food was good, not excellent for the price of stay.
Owner and staff never smiled.

Hi Donald – Thanks for taking the time to submit a review and for your feedback. I’m sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. The room you selected, the Ivy Garden Room, is a favorite of many of our guests because of the large jacuzzi tub. As shown in the room photos on our website and online travel agencies like Expedia.com, it does not have a stand-up shower, but rather a hand-held shower device. Many guests who stay in the Ivy Garden are complementary of their stay in this room and have mentioned how good the quality of their sleep is during their stay. It is true that it’s difficult for me to smile in a conventional way. I have residual effects of a neurological disorder, Bell’s Palsy, that has resulted in permanent facial paralysis. Please be aware that while I may not be able to fully smile on the outside, I am smiling on the inside and hope that hospitality shows through.

The location was fantastic. It was walking distance from several very good restaurants and a short drive from even more. There was a nearby walking path that went to UNC-A and to the Botanical Center. A nice easy and wonderful walk. The breakfasts were great and the selection of coffees and teas were perfect. The room and house was well appointed and the furnishings were like art.
