Top Floor Condo in the Heart of Downtown

This two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo features 13 ft high ceilings, and huge windows with abundant natural light. The master bedroom is an en-suite and features a king size bed. The second queen bedroom is well separated from the master and next to the hall bath that includes a tub. There is a comfortable living area, full kitchen with separate dining area, washer and dryer, dishwasher, and microwave.

The Altamont Condos is located on historic Church Street in the heart of downtown. The street is tree lined and full of beautiful old buildings including three historic churches. The location is ideal, being close to everything downtown and the street is off the high traffic streets, so it is quieter than nearby Patton Avenue.

This building was originally constructed in 1895 and renovated in 2010. The historic character of the building was preserved so it continues to fit in on Church Street while adding modern features to make the property environmentally friendly, convenient and extremely safe.
There is high-capacity internet coming into the building and extensive Wi-Fi coverage so you can work remotely during an extended stay. For entertainment we provide a smart TV with Sling and local TV channels, and the Wi-Fi has enough capacity to stream on personal devices.

The building features a large elevator that makes getting luggage in and out extremely easy. There are solar panels on the roof that are behind the original parapet that preheat the building's hot water and electric water heaters in each unit are only used for backup. Heating and cooling are provided by high efficiency heat pumps that automatically bring in fresh air from the outside so indoor air never seems stale. The building also meets the same safety standards as a hotel. There is a sprinkler system, emergency lighting and fire rated emergency exits. You can enjoy the charm of an old structure on a historic street and know that if there is an emergency in the middle of the night you can safely exit the building.

Parking is available in the new Buncombe County public garage on Coxe Ave, it's behind the church across the street and a very short walk. There is another public garage under the A-Loft hotel on Biltmore Avenue.

18 Church Street is a great jumping off point for Asheville touring. Restaurants and bars and shops and galleries all close; many within walking distance.

Location, location, location
Comfortable condo in walkable district full of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and quirky stores. We parked in the garage behind the church across the street and didn't take our car out once during our stay. We ate out every meal so we didn't use the kitchen, but it was nice to have a living room to relax in at the end of the day. Comfortable beds; larger bedroom is on the street side of the condo and subject to city noise both early and late. We received detailed instructions for parking and access before our arrival that seemed confusing, but it was very easy to figure out once we were there. Elevator was nice when bringing luggage in and out. Would absolutely recommend this condo!

This condo was perfect. We loved the location to all of the downtown attractions/restaurants/brewery. It was clean and the bed and pillows were perfect. Kitchen was stocked although we didn’t cook. We felt safe and comfortable. Attended a nearby church service.

The condo was exactly what we expected based on the listing. There was a strong odor throughout the entrance and exterior hallway, but the condo itself was fine. Overall the unit was clean and the checkout instructions were clear. Great location within walking distance to shops and restaurants. We found metered parking out front to be the most convenient.

Great location! Nice accommodations. Parking was fine (parked in garage at Sears Alley) and affordable at $12 for 24 hours. Was expecting higher parking cost so that was a plus! Condo is nice size for 2 couples. Beds pretty comfortable although the king size was a bit noisy when turning over. Not a fan of Roku tv but we managed. Would be nice to have an antenna option for local LIVE tv (ie., news/traffic/weather). Definitely would stay again!!

Fabulous Location, Great Place!
We loved our stay in downtown Asheville! Walking distance to practically everything! The apartment was well-furnished, clean, and quiet. Two couples had plenty of room and the common spaces were comfortable. Very neat old building! We arrived before checkin, and there is a great brew pub just a couple of doors down to relax in until the apartment is ready to go. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others!

Convenient location in downtown Asheville
The location in downtown Asheville can’t be beat! The condo is on a beautiful, church-filled street that is relatively quiet, except for the drumming busker who was the end of the street a couple of evenings during out stay. Thanks to the white noise machines provided in both bedrooms any outside noise wasn’t too much of a problem. The unit seemed a little worn. Some of the furnishings showed some wear and tear. The bed in the master bedroom was not very comfortable and creaked every time you moved. The fan and one of the lights in the master didn’t appear to work.

Great Location
Enjoyed our long weekend with friends in this nice and quiet condo. Location was excellent for walking to many downtown shops and restaurants. Also a short drive to the Biltmore Estate. Parking was easy and economical in nearby garage. Appreciated elevator as we were on the 3rd floor. Overhead fan in master bedroom was not working and sink in master bath drained slowly but otherwise everything in working order. Would stay here again.

A nice long weekend in Asheville
The Altamont Condos on Church Street was a conveniently located and very safe location. We very much enjoyed walking downtown to restaurants and breweries around the area. The beds were comfortable and each bedroom came with a white noise machine to help us sleep better. The apartment itself was nice with reasonable appliances. Some of the furnishings were a little long in the tooth, but for the most part comfortable. The parking is not terrible as the condos themselves have no assigned parking. The spaces in front of the condo are all metered with a 2 hour limit, but you can park a block away in the parking garage for $12 per day. On Sundays the metered spaces are free. There is some unmetered parking across from the parking garage about a block away, if you are lucky enough to get one. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay in Asheville and would stay in the condos again.
