We loved our stay! The property is beautiful and peaceful. It is convenient to get to shops and restaurants but still in the country. The Northern Lights Loft had a beautiful view with some great sunrises and sunsets to be seen from the balcony.

A large house in a quiet rural location with very spacious, fully equipped apartments, stylish interiors, owned and run by a very friendly family. A great place to relax and enjoy nature of N Wisconsin.

Peaceful, beautiful, restful
Publié le 1 mars 2024 sur HotelsWe came for the Birkie, and LOVED staying in this spacious lovely Inn. Beds were comfy, kitchenette was very functional, and nice open space (windows with lovely with view of land and full moon while we were there).
Kelly and Mark were so very friendly and made our stay feel like we were "at home."
Great area to walk, fresh air, cute animals (horses, donkeys, outdoor cats and a dog - all very friendly!).
Lots of interesting books to peruse, and family games to play. Thank you for NOT have a tv!!! :)

The hosts were friendly and gave great advice on where to go round Ashland and Bayfield. Our room was very clean and the common area had extra seating and a coffee and reading area. The house is located just a few miles out of town on a small farm set on many acres. A peaceful country setting with beautiful scenery and animals.

Really surprised with the accommodations! We were greeted with wonderful hospitality and the area was gorgeous. We are planning to return again.

Charming Retreat
Publié le 31 août 2023 sur HotelsFor our recent stay at Second Wind, we were thoroughly impressed with the property and the attention to detail that Mark and Kelly brought forth both in its construction and as the current proprietors. The room was quite comfortable, though the bed was a bit firmer than we were used to. What surprised us most was how quiet the room was- this was greatly appreciated. They were gracious hosts and gave us some great tips on things to see and do in the area. We would certainly recommend a stay here, and have it on our short list for our next vacation to the area.

Thank you for your detailed review and kind words. We are so glad we made the list in coming back next time you are in the area. Perhaps you might want to pick a different room at Second Wind when you return, as the room you stayed in (The Bear Den) has the most firm mattress in the house as that was our recommendations for an ADA room.

What a unique and beautiful property. I stayed while visiting family and thoroughly enjoyed coming back every evening to this little oasis and quaint room!
