Management Needs an Upgrade
Publié le 23 juill. 2024 sur HotelsPros: The units are very attractive, some with balcony's overlooking Athens, and sitting areas with sofas and kitchens. Modern construction with electric operated shades. We were taking a cruise out of Athens the next day and the location wasn't too far from the port.
Cons: When we arrived (8:30pm) we went to the door and pressed a buzzer on an intercom board but no one answered. We tried several times and then someone opened the door, but it was other guests who were able to get into the small lobby (who were also going on the same cruise) but wouldn't let us in for fear that we weren't supposed to be there. We then tried all of the intercom buttons and after being outside for about 20 minutes someone answered who identified themselves as security, and they buzzed us into the front door. We then discovered that the other people (about six of them) were also staying there to get on the cruise the next day, but no one had been there to assign them a room. After about twenty minutes of trying different communication methods, we finally got in touch with the owner. She said someone would be there shortly. About 15 minutes later a gentlemen arrived who assigned rooms and gave us room keys. By the time we got settled in our rooms it was 9:30pm. Mgmt did upgrade our room, but when you get to your room late at night and are leaving the next morning, an upgrade really doesn't do much for you.

A little far from the center. Taxi is around 5 euro to PLAKA. A 1.2 mile walk to where the shops are. Lydia was great. Even told us to download the free app to get taxis.

Still a great, clean, tranquillary place. Found a great supermarket close by. And if it's closed, the FOC lemonade in the fridge can save yr night! A few items now more used, like the shower facilities. I would still return any time!

I would like to start off by saying that my husband and I travel a lot and we have been to Athens before, but unfortunately not this area. We really read reviews on both expedia and trip advisor prior to booking anything.
Pros
The gentleman at reception was really nice and room was spacious.
Cons
although it was a little bit further out from the city centre, it was only a 15 minute walk from the main attractions, we dont mind walking
However, the neighborhood is not the most safe and even the receptionist told us to be careful is going out in the evening, he recomended against it. This left us very unsettled. We in turn took an uber everywhere. Even though the metro is a 8 minute walk, we didnt feel the most safe getting to and from. Again, keep in mind we have travelled ALOT around the world.
When we checked into our room we wanted to use the hot tub but it was cold. It took so long to heat up that we couldnt use it the 1st of 3 nights. The water smelled really bad and we dont think chemicals are used to clean it.
We were asked to turn on the green light for maid service when we needed it. The maid never came and towels were soaking. We got in at 8pm so couldnt ask for more towels. Reception closes at 6pm.
We hung up our wet towels the 2nd day assuming the maid wouldnt come and we wanted dry towels. She did come but she never changed them. Again stuck with wet towels.
On our last night we got infested with ants. We didnt have any food or anything in the room.
