Avis Saronic Citadel Villa castle: A dream villa tower in Salamina with pool

Accueil très sympathique d'un propriétaire toujours disponible qui a un lien réel à sa maison pleine de charmes et à ses hôtes de passage. Nous avons eu une personne avec un petit souci de santé et nous avons été accompgané de manière efficace et sans intrusion indélicate. Maison organisable de manière multiple. Tout semble à portée de main dans les environs... si on a une voiture : la mer, les ferrys, les magasins, les restaurants.

The view from the large deck with a beautiful marble stone floor was wonderful. Communication was timely and very helpful. The detailed directions were a lifesaver as the home is located some distance from the port. The home construction is amazing but note, this is not a castle. The owner, Chari was informative and met us at an early prearranged arrival. The furniture, living room pillows, beds, bedding, blankets and pillows are "tired" and need to be replaced. In specific the beds & pillows are terrible. The refrigerator worked, but inside needed to be cleaned and most of the shelves and plastic drawers are cracked and damaged. I used the washing machine but ended doing 3 cycles because I couldn't figure out the machine and there were no instructions in english. The lounge chairs at the pool area are damaged and somewhat unsafe as the fabric is ripped and rotten (sun damage my guess). I suggest keeping an updated instruction list including: how to use washing machine, taxi contact #'s, restaurant recommendations who are familiar with home location, emergency contact #, trash directions, etc.

Saronic Citadel was exactly what we expected. There were plenty of rooms, a big living room, and a nice terrace with a view. Perfect for us.

We had a lovely eight day stay at Saronic Citadel, which is a lovely home that has everything with amazing views.Our host Charis was beyond accommodating and helpful. We chose Salamina because of it’s beach atmosphere and close proximity to Athens.There are so many quaint little shops on the island and wonderful things to do. I recommend that you learn some Greek before you go because unlike Athens, not many people speak English, making communication a challenge. Charis was helpful with that as well, ordering pitses for us when needed. Sunday should NOT be a beach day as it is the most popular day for locals and parking/beach space is limited There are many local restaurants that have umbrellas and cabanas, making a day long stay at the beach enjoyable. There is also an inflatable water park at Lava that kids enjoy. The short ferry ride to Athens allowed us to see the Acropolis and Parthenon and there are too many lovely local markets and restaurants to name. Charis helped arrange an island tour of Salamina by boat and our captain Christos and first mate Mike took us to some wonderfully secluded places to snorkel and just enjoy the water. We also did a little fishing and our first mate dove for some conch, mussels and oysters which they prepared for us to eat on the boat. We ended our family vacation with a trip to Tattoo Master for family tattoos. Christos was AMAZING and fit us all in on a Sunday. My favorite greek souvenir is on my back 🙂. Highly recommend!
