Don’t let the outside fool you, this home is a beautiful example of its 1890’s heritage. Stunning stained glass, original woodwork and windows. The beds are firm and breakfast comes with wonderful stories if you request them.

Staying in a Victorian Mansion with History
Publié le 13 juin 2024 sur HotelsIf you want to step back into the age of lumber barons and other characters, then this is the place to stay! Be sure to ask Barbara about the history of the mansion. It is fascinating - dating back over 125 years. The bed and the room were very comfortable. Everything was spotless. The center of Atlantic is just a short walk away. It was easily accessable even on a very warm Spring evening. We would absolutely stay here again.

Publié le 29 août 2023 sur HotelsThe owner was a very nice lady. She wanted to talk with ya. And help suggest ideas of things to do and where to eat. The up keep on the bed and breakfast is to much for one person to handle. So I feel she struggles keeping things done. She is trying to do everything herself. I felt like I was a teenager again as I felt you couldn’t come and go without saying what you were doing and when you were coming back. There was no key for the front door so you had to ring for her to come unlock the front door. So we didn’t want to be out to late. The sun porch where we had our breakfast had plants and pots full of dirt. Cobwebs were everywhere out there. So felt very unclean. We will not be staying here again. Unfortunately we were not satisfied. Also I knew breakfast was extra money. We paid onsite instead of hotels.com wish we would’ve it would’ve been cheaper. As it was going to be $310 then add the 40 for breakfast for two times two mornings so should’ve been $350. Was charged $369 I think.

I am sorry that you feel your stay did not meet your expectations. It is sad that you were offended by my caring and kindness.Yes, I am having to charge 10 extra for breakfast due to rising groceries prices. That information is published on the reservation website. I also take care to remind my guests of this charge during check in. You were not over charged.I do appreciate and value guests staying at my historic, Victorian mansion and Jacuzzi Suites in my carriage house.

When we arrived, we were told the room we reserved was overbooked but that they had another room but it cost more. Breakfast wasn’t included.

I am the owner and manager of this establishment. I am responsible for 9 guest rooms and suites. The reservation service is responsible for booking billions of rooms worldwide. Their computer system overbooked the suite you chose. Another couple reserved that suite months ago so I closed out the suite to insure it would not be over booked. I did contact the service and they acknowledged the error. I offered another option and you accepted. I have it clearly stated in at the reservation service website that breakfast is 10 per person. I explained to you at check in, because grocery prices are exceedingly high there is a charge for breakfast.Contacting me directly would have avoided your dissatisfaction.
