Two issues with this Rydges in Auckland: (1) room has mold smell. It may not have good airflow for a while. We had to keep a window open the whole time during our 4-day stay. Bathroom smell even stronger. (2) Rooftop lounge closed to guests due to a private event without notice. Hotel basically took away the amenities that guests paid for.

Great staff and service, breakfast buffet is delish and reasonably priced. In walking distance to CBD attractions and shopping and to bus and train options which was really handy. Only downside to note there was an empty pill packet left under one bed and some travel pamphlets under the other left from previous guests which let down overall cleanliness. Other than that would definitely stay again.

Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helped with a bunch of recommendations. Location was good and walkable to Skytower, Weta experience, waterfront, shopping, and more.
