The hotel is dated and needs better cleaning. The restaurant area is not well kept, tables not clean and furniture??? The furniture in the lobby waiting area is medium blue and to be candid is filthy! Ok hotel, but could be much nicer. Also hallway on 6th floor stained with some mess not cleaned up during our stay and hole is drywall on hall roof, should be repaired.

Breakfast service needs lot of improvement. This is the first hotel that I ever stayed that did not offer omelets at breakfast. Even the other options weren’t good. The locker in our room wasn’t working, but the housekeeping never responded to our requests to fix it!

Excellent bed, sheets and towels as always at Rydges But my room always smelt of stinking drains . The sliding door to the shower and toilet would not move. The decor is very generic and dark more appropriate for the corporate world.

Very good tourist hotel. Service and staff were marvelous. They worked hard to exceed service levels. The breakfast buffet was comprehensive. The only negative I have to offer about the property itself is the harsh direct lighting in the rooms. It would have been much better to have some table lamps for the night stands and the desk. The hotel is wedged between the redeveloped waterfront (good) and the hostelries and low-end shops catering to younger, less affluent travelers (not so great). The street it sits on looks as if it’s about to be redeveloped (also good).

Clean and tidy wonderful view of Auckland the harbour bridge at night. We were in room 1410. Great sleep. The reception person was Eden excellent inter personal skills, we felt so welcome. Didn’t like paying a bond even though it was refunded didn’t get the point

Good above average, comfortable hotel.

Good quality, reasonably priced food n bev at coffee shop and bar lunch spot. Room very comfortable, plenty of good quality linen and towels. Good lighting and bathroom amenities excellent. Overall a good experience we would certainly return to this venue and recommend to others.
