Bad odor from heating system
Publié le 15 janv. 2024 sur HomeAwayUpon arrival the bedroom smelled of heating oil. We tried opening the window, but was simply too cold. We had to leave the property. We were only there a few hours. We contacted both the property manager and VRBO. We offered to pay for the 1st night and requested a refund for the rest. We contacted the property manager several times but never received a response. Neither helped us and we lost our money. It was a horrible experience:(

I met this American couple at early arrival and brought them in to a toasty warm house where they seemed most impressed. They were visiting family 30miles away and did express concern at the distance they were staying away from family.
They were there for about 6 hours and messaged me to say that they were unhappy as there was a kerosene smell which surprised me as a very health conscious man had departed the previous day after a long stay.
Our way of doing business is to always crown the customer. Customer is King.
I immediately replied and said No Problem. I asked the guest to cancel the booking so that my availability calendar would be freed up for that Christmas week, the busiest time of year.
I told them that once cancelled and available for rebooking they would get a full refund.
They didnt do that, nor did VRBO even thought I also asked them to cancel it.
Hosts are penalised if they cancel.
No person before or since had any issues with any smell. If you leave oil heating on constantly with no window open it is certainly not healthy as well as being costly and unfair to the host.
I consider this review most unfair to me as I was offering a full refund once either the guest or VBRO cancelled - a click of a button for either party which neither managed to do.

Quiet time on the Wild Atlantic Way
Publié le 18 août 2023 sur HomeAwayAfter a couple of weeks seeing the UK and Ireland with 9 of our kids and grandkids, we wanted a few days to rest. We loved being in the Sligo area and dining at the nearby Beach Bar. Downpatrick Head was great to see & we even drove to the Giant’s Causeway while we were in the area. Sheila’s house was a nice place to rest and relax. We loved attending church in nearby Screen. A great ending to a great trip!

Mysig stuga på landet
Publié le 14 août 2023 sur HomeAwayEn mysig del av ett hus beläget på köravstånd till Sligo. Gångavstånd till kusten med vacker vandringsled och pub. Huset hade alla nödvändiga bekvämligheter och var en bra utgångspunkt för utflykter i Sligo och Mayo county.
Utsikten var bedårande!

Take the bigger apartment!

The second one is small and has no seperate kitchen, one bedroom downstairs that is rather dark and cold.
The hostess is very friendly and helpful.

Brilliant House To Stay

week in this lovely, spacious
house.( Date's from the 29aug to 5sep 2022 ) The decor, furniture
and fittings are top notch. It was an upside down house everything was immaculate.
It had spacious floor area in the living area up stair and a very large bedroom downstairs . It was dog friendly and had a large back garden for the dog to run around.
There was a patio area at the rear which came in handy because the weather for us was brilliant .the beach was
fantastic. It was just down the road we didn't have far to go.just a couple of minutes
Our Host Sheila McDermott couldn't have been more helpful. ThankYou Sheila
I WOULD DEFINITELY GO BACK
