Historic Clarksville is home to this prestigious, early 20th century, fully-renovated bungalow – Hemingway. Original, antique floors, furnishings, pops of Modern Art, and vibrant textiles create a refined, elegant space ideal for hosting family, friends, or colleagues. The house can comfortably accommodate 10 guests with 4 bedrooms + 3 bathrooms. Enjoy daily access to the manicured lawn and unheated, shared plunge pool with shaded garden seating in the neighboring yard from Noon to 5 pm. Explore downtown Austin, hiking trails, the fine-dining scene, and our favorite dives all within a mile. We invite you to share in good company and stay awhile with Renters Club.

-Included with your reservation is an accidental damage protection insurance policy that protects everyone from any unexpected accidents. The full name, address and date of birth of the primary renter must be submitted within 48 hours after booking to our insurance partner, Safely.
-No Bachelor parties. Please contact us if you are a bachelor party looking for accommodations and we will be more than happy to assist!
-Age restrictions apply. Please inquire for more information.
-Additional deposits may be required.
-No pets allowed. If you are traveling with a pet, reach out as we can help you find a pet-friendly place.
-To keep our home beautiful, we ask that you not hang decorations on the walls. Tape, tacks, and other adhesives tend to peel paint and leave marks, etc. Glitter and confetti decor are also prohibited both inside and outside. Evidence will result in an additional cleaning fee of $250, plus the cost of damages to home.
-Enjoy a smoke, just not inside. Please ensure all doors and windows are shut and dispose of your ends in the outdoor trash bins. Indoor smoking will result in a sizable fine.
-Reservations made during Festivals and Conferences are non-refundable, i.e., SXSW, ACL, F-1, etc.
Important Pool Information
-The pool is in the neighboring yard and is shared with a total of 3 properties; this one, the neighboring house, and its guest house
-POOL RULES: Pool Hours - 12:00p - 5:00p, Music - only small speakers please, loud music is strictly prohibited. Other rules - glass and smoking are also strictly prohibited. Please use provided pool towels only. They are striped and located in the laundry room. Please be sure to pick up after yourselves when using the pool. Trash may not be left at the pool at any time. Failure to comply will result in the immediate revocation of pool privileges and a fine.

Worth it just make sure the air is on!
This home was so lovely to stay in, felt like we were staying in an old home that has been renovated so nicely. The kitchen was beautiful as well as the pool, wish we didn't have to have only the 5 strict hours access to the pool. That was a big bummer... Also, when we were checking in the heat was on and it was 98f in the house and that was not refreshing at all. It took the whole evening and night to finally cool the place down. Not fun after coming in from a hot day in the Texas July heat. Just make sure the air is on for the next guest you have coming in... Also, the freezer was not keeping cold. Again when we checked in there was a chunk of ice in the ice cube tray. It was hot and we just wanted to cool down with something cold and refreshing to drink and there was no ice available. We would love to come back as it was a great place over all - it was a great location to all downtown fun!

Bachelor Weekend
The house was a cool relief from the unseasonably warm May weather. We spent a lot of time cooling off in the pool and making friends with the sociable neighbors. All seemed friendly and willing to get to know their temporary neighbors. Location for fun nights out in downtown Austin is essential, cheap and readily available Ubers save a lot of time and money

The house was in a quiet location an easy cab ride from the city - also very walkable to plenty of places. There was no option for early check in or late checkout, even though they had no guests coming in the day we left. There are signs everywhere that you will get charged for any small things you do in the space, yet there are doors that don't fully shut and peeling surfaces in the bathroom. It was still clean, but I was on edge most of the time that I was going to get hit with fees for something.

Deceptive but Okay
Well, they have this nice pool picture, giving you the perception it is the pool for this house. The pool is in another yard. Also, you get the house on VRBO, and you have to make another agreement with the management company. This is so aggravating. I ALREADY BOOKED ON VRBO. The management company was awesome so that was a little saving grace. The house was just okay; they advertised like it was some stellar house. Maybe my standards are different when they use the words they use marketing this house. Overall, it was average, and I would stay here with different expectations. It would have had four starts. I just don't like deceptive advertising. Last very open house if you want privacy, like shutting drapes, etc. There are none to close. One TV in only the living room was frustrating for some of the guests I had staying with me, too. They would have liked a TV in their room.

Great location, amenities could be improved
House was overall in a great location (provided you had a car) to get around Austin. Picking up on what other reviews mentioned and were not addressed. The lighting was strange, the overhead lighting kept turning on and off and light switches did not match up. The kitchen was fairly well stocked, but we had impression not many people actually cooked meals there. Admittedly, we ate out mostly, but did try to prepare a brunch and had to be creative with kitchen items. Significantly, there was NO wine opener/corkscrew and hairdryer. When we contacted number provided by text to address a house issue, there was no answer EVER. We ended up purchasing both at a local Target but issue had been raised by prior renters so would have been nice to be addressed before we arrived. Bathroom doors offered little privacy as they were vented closet doors so that was also a little odd as well and took some getting used to. It was clean, however, there was also a large amount of black mold on the main bath fabric shower curtain that should have been noticed by cleaners and replaced. Overall home was good, but some TLC could be used to maintain the property.

Great potential!
The location of this home is fabulous in terms of proximity to Austin life. As advertised, it sits right next to another occupied home, but the listing could be improved to more honestly represent the proximity of the owner’s residence. The sliding glass door kitchen are directly facing the 3 carport of the owner. The home was well stocked with towels and pantry staples, but the bath soap was filled with water in all 3 bathrooms, there were no hairdryers and no corkscrew for wine - it would really help to have these essentials in stock. There are very clear and strict instructions to guests on noise and gatherings, which we appreciate and respect, however we were disappointed that the same courtesy wasn’t extended to us as guests. Early Saturday morning landscapers pulled up into the drive, completely blocking the entrance and began loudly shoveling gravel. This continued for 2 hours despite reaching the local host to ask that this be stopped. Scheduling mix-ups occur, but once notified, and for the price of this home, would like to see a more timely response to cease this and free up our ability to access the property. Again, this property has great potential with a few modifications.

Great location, dated property
Property location was great, closely located near to downtown ATX. The property itself is dated & could use an update. The furniture showed a lot of use & the interior of the house smelled not the greatest. The layout of the home is 3 bedrooms & narrow hallways (old style 1960’s wooden home). The doors to the bathrooms were just vented closet doors which was a little odd. The interior lighting kept shorting out in different rooms which was a little annoying. The listing shows a pool but it’s actually shared by 3 properties & is not private & it’s located in the next door yard (just an FYI). If you’re looking for privacy this isn’t the property as most common area windows don’t have blinds & the driveway of the home is utilized by the neighbors (owners & other renters). The other thing that i found odd was the number of release forms, renter information requests they required, it was excessive. Anyways, I don’t want to belittle the property but I do want to give more information that might be helpful to others. If I had to visit ATX again I’d look for something newer & just rent a car if it’s further outside of the downtown.

The property is great. We had a group of 4 adults in town for F1 and the layout was great. Location is great for downtown as well as getting around Austin as you can easily get in and out of the street. Communication with the owners/company was great. Check in was easy and even a few additional requests were met with ease. Totally professional and on top of it. Thanks for a great trip.

Downtown Proper was perfect
We couldn’t have been happier with the property or our hosts who lived next door. The house was a great old house, that’s been updated but retained its character. We were welcome to use the pool, and yard next door on our hosts lot, but they didn’t interfere with our party unless we approached them. It was a perfect give & take. Great Stay
My friends and I really enjoyed staying here! We were able to share the pool which was super helpful especially during those hot days. We had a few electrical issues on the first day but, the owners got an electrician to come out ASAP and was resolved. Would recommend staying here if you have a big group!

Good location, plenty of parking, nice property and amenities. Need to focus on maintenance.
We had a family gathering and the property was centrally located and had easy access to numerous local places to eat and be entertained. The art collection and well curated decor set the property apart from others. We had a good stay and would return to stay again. There are some areas where property maintenance could use some attention; however most concerns were addressed by the property managers as quickly as they were communicated.
