Thank you so much for your feedback! We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the pool, backyard, and the beautiful views from the upstairs bedrooms. We loved the outdoor umbrellas as well, unfortunately guests left them open which led to damage, and in some cases, they ended up in the lake. To balance the costs and our commitment to protecting the lake, we’ve decided not to replace them at this time. We appreciate your understanding regarding the steep stairs. As mentioned in our listing, the cottage is over 70 years old and retains its original charm, which includes some unique architectural features. We also apologize for the issues with the gate and the sprinklers. The irrigation system malfunctioned and may have impacted the gate’s operation. We’re in the process of repairing it and have engaged our gate company to ensure these issues are addressed. We appreciate your patience with the gate situation and hope the memories of jumping the fence are more amusing than frustrating! Regarding the dead bugs, being in a rural area by the water, we occasionally encounter some, though we maintain a frequent pest control schedule to manage them. We’re glad to hear that despite this, you enjoyed the overall experience and found the back patio and both the main house and cabin well-equipped. Thank you again for your feedback. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. In the Lake Travis area, it's common to find a blend of different housing types, ranging from trailer parks to multi-million-dollar homes. Although your complaint was based on your personal opinion of the surrounding area, we encouraged you to run a safety report search for the area beforehand. Because of your distaste for the way certain homes appeared on your drive to Lake Travis, you immediately began to judge us and the home. As for the pool incident where the pool cleaner sprayed your feet upon arrival, we took action, knowing you were already upset, and we paid an extra service fee to our pool company to address this issue. The pool cleaner simply needed to be pushed deeper into the pool, which is common with all pool cleaners from time to time. We apologize for the inconvenience of encountering a gecko on the wall during your stay. Please note that our property undergoes regular pest control treatments. However, given the home's location in Texas, surrounded by water and countryside, occasional encounters with wildlife are difficult to entirely prevent. As far as the gate issues, we're truly sorry for the inconvenience and frustration this caused. We appreciate your understanding of our efforts to address the gate problem the following day. While this was unfortunate, it was not something we could have predicted or prevented. The gate has since been fully repaired and operating. We want to clarify that we communicated to you that I was undergoing emergency surgery and assured you that we would follow up with you. However, you grew impatient and threatened us with writing a negative review. For those who are reading reviews before booking this property, we can assure you that we strive to provide an excellent experience when staying at The Cottage at Paradise Cove. We went above and beyond to appease this guest, however, we will not give in to being bullied or threatened. -JW Property
