Great house

The well water is extremely salty and not drinkable. we lost a day of being able to use the pool and all of the shower and sink water is well water which was not described in the bio. The host got the pool cleaner to the house and had the pool ready to use within 8 hours of arriving which we appreciated. Other than that the house was great.

Thank you for your feedback John. We have recently had a technician evaluate the water softener that was recently installed. Luckily, it was still under warranty and needed repairs. That being said, this home does have hard water, this is what of the drawbacks of residing in the beautiful Hill Country, is that the home is supplied by a water well. The water softener utilizes salt to combat the hard water which can leave a slightly salty taste. We always recommend that our guest bring their own drinking water and ice.

Overall it was not a terrible experience but the house was dirty when we arrived like you can tell it has not been deep cleaned. The amount of bugs inside was insane and I know and understand the location but spider webs and dead bugs have been there awhile. There was trash just under beds and behind furniture. The outside furniture was so gross and I cleaned, that’s the best part of the house. The pool was not cleaned. Many broken parts like door knobs, beds etc. for the price and location I just expected more, yes it is outdated but what I really expect is a clean house. The beds very uncomfortable and the water being salt water is hard to get use too. The views are amazing and it has so much potential but until this house got a deep clean and a little cosmetic make over with beds I would not recommend to anyone. It’s a shame because it’s so beautiful. I also would hope they would put a ladder at the dock for future guest. But again, there is no way they had a cleaning service there before us, if so they did not clean. We were hopeful this could be our new spot to meet yearly or take other family vacays at!

We appreciate your feedback and we apologize that we did not meet up to your standards. We have since made major improvements to the home, and it is unfortunate we could not complete renovations before your stay. A previous guest broke a window in the 3rd floor watch tower. This took time to replace, and we believe this caused the influx of insects. This home is on a regularly scheduled pest control service. That being said, this home is located in a rural location with close proximity to the lake. We had a meeting with our cleaning crew who we have used for over 16 years to discuss ways to continue to improve cleanliness. We have since done a complete haul and deep cleaning of every inch of this home. The previous owner had an extensive amount of decor that was causing the home to appear cluttered or messy. We have redecorated and made decor improvements. We have hauled off the old outdoor furniture, added new bedding, and made cosmetic improvements to the home. We are sorry your stay was a disappointment but hope you can reconsider us in the future.

Publié le 20 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe location was perfect! Secluded but still close enough to run to the store. Host was super responsive to any questions or concerna. Got some amazing pics, saw lots of deer and enjoyed the pool and fishing the whole week. Would definitely return again!

Great place for friends
Publié le 11 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe spent five nights here in Lago Vista, and had a great time! The location is far enough away to be secluded, but close enough that we could go into town when we needed something. It is a great place to relax with friends and family.

Relaxing and Spacious

The university to attend but far enough out to avoid all the crazy madness in the city. The commute was easy, the home was spacious and had everything we needed. Hosts were prompt to respond to questions also. We brought bottled water and ice- the water was salty but did not cause any shower issues. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a new water softener system installed at the end of June 2023. Since the installation, we have not received feedback on this severity. We took your complaint seriously and had 2 different companies come out to evaluate if there was a malfunction. The new system's bladder tank was defective and in return was over-pumping the salt used for the water softener. We truly appreciate the feedback and hope you understand that this was not something we could have predicted or prevented. We did offer you compensation during your stay which you accepted. Unfortunately, you rated us 1 star, which greatly impacts our business and Premier Status with VRBO. To those reading reviews before booking, rest assured we have taken immediate action to repair the system. Please keep in mind, that in Texas, there are salt mines in the ground. This home has a deep water well. Based on feedback from 2 different companies, there is a possibility that the home will continue to have a slightly salty taste, but the water itself will be less hard and in no way "toxic" whatsoever.
