Family resort very well done
Publié le 5 août 2024 sur HotelsThe Omni Barton Creek is a sprawling resort on a golf course with multiple outdoor pools, a very large and complete fitness center with indoor pool, restaurants and a spa (and plenty more). It's popular with families in the summer and upon arrival there were plenty of families with kids everywhere.. quite the hubbub, but fortunately my room was up high and away from all of that.
The room and furnishings were excellent. Everything was comfortable and clean. The room was refreshed nicely and I was able to sleep well each night.
The fitness center is truly amazing. Lots of treadmills, elipitical, stairmaster, free weights, barbells, an indoor track (13 times around for 1 mile), etc. A complete locker room with steam room, showers, and all the necessary grooming supplies.
Mokara Spa is a very nice facility too. During my stay, they swapped the men's and women's sides (if I understood right) while repairing the steam room... so I didn't get to enjoy that but did get a great massage and lots of quiet relax time there.
The food at the restaurants and coffe shop was good as well. There's a lot ot like here.

Loved - the rolling hills. The scenic view from the pools and property. The activities for families. The 8 restaurant options. Free covered parking at a resort.
Didn’t love - not enough shaded or areas with fans at the pools and spas. Could use more or not allow day passes to assure guests have seating. The meh attitude of several servers I came across at the pool and spa. The quality of the food was mediocre. Would have loved more organic and high quality options - especially at the spa and room service. The pillows smelled stale and were overused feathers. Lack of any accommodation for late checkout even though I was using the spa.
Would come back with my family for the family activities however.
