Rough start that got better

After a tough conversation, he admitted he had the house professionally cleaned before the homeowners decided to paint the house (how long before if they had time to paint??). I sympathize with the property manager that there was a miscommunication--and yet it is also his job to make sure the property is ready to go for the customers. After paying multiple thousands of dollars to stay here during Thanksgiving week for a special family reunion, I don't think it is absurd to ask for a clean place to stay. He offered to get the place professionally cleaned the next day, but we still had to sleep in it that night as is. My main issue is that he did not agree that it was reasonable to ask for a discount--which I did not understand was very disappointed by. I will say the property was fun to stay at (though a little run down), and we ended up having a great time playing pickleball and hanging out. Also, the property manager was responsive by message. Unfortunately, I did not think he handled the uncleanliness in a professional or respectful manner, and that will prevent me from recommended this place or this host.

While we strive to provide an exceptional experience for all of our guests, Elizabeth’s review does not reflect the reality of our efforts during her stay. The property was thoroughly cleaned prior to her arrival, with spotless kitchen and bathrooms. However, there were some paint chips on the floor due to the house being painted after the initial cleaning. As soon as Elizabeth brought this to our attention, we immediately arranged and paid for professional cleaners to return the very next morning to address her concerns. Despite this, Elizabeth also demanded a substantial refund, which we felt was unreasonable given that we had already resolved the issue promptly. Additionally, her review does not acknowledge several accommodations we made to enhance her stay: we made an exception to keep the pool open for her in November (despite our typical closure in October), shipped brand-new pickleball paddles and balls for her use, and replaced a coffee pot that she accidentally broke the very next day—at no charge to her. We take guest feedback seriously and always aim to provide fair, responsive service. However, we cannot condone attempts to leverage reviews for refunds, which Elizabeth explicitly stated as her intention. We encourage future guests to reach out directly with any concerns during their stay, as we are always eager to make things right.

Great stay for large groups

Spectacular reunion

There was plenty of space, beds, privacy, and the best part for us was the outdoor patio with the most beautiful view! The home was so quiet, people could sleep and couldn't hear us laughing and having coffee on the porch. We used all the amenities but couldn't find the pickleball equipment (it was in the dining room, lol). We swam during the day and enjoyed the hot tub at night. The place was perfect for us, slightly dated but we didn't mind. The management was so responsive and accommodating as we had several questions. We recommend for your large group!

Great Stay With Friends

Traumatized
Publié le 8 août 2023 sur HomeAwayUpon arrival my sister was meet by a couple that stated they had the property booked for the weekend. She was questioned about how we booked, who we booked through, how long ago we booked & they knew the owner. The lady came & sat on the porch as if she thought my sister was lying. It was just her and my nephew the rest of us hadn't arrived yet. About 15 minutes of the couple's arrival & interrogation of my sister they left. The house was very warm, this is Texas in the summer. When you know guest are arriving, please lower the thermostat. The rest of us arrived at the same time & decided to go outside to swim & cool off after unloading our stuff. Went out around 4:30 pm, at APPROXIMENTLY 6:00pm I get a text from the owner/company of a neighbor complaining about the noise level, extra guest & the "sound of a party" This took me by surprise, the house was booked for 10. It was only 10 of us there, outside swimming, talking, laughing & enjoying each other. No one was overly loud, not to mention it was DURING THE DAY! We were told if another complaint was made, we would be asked to leave without a refund. My family takes this trip EVERY YEAR in memory of our mother that passed away 13 years ago from cancer. After that my anxiety was through the roof. I spent the rest of my time making sure the noise level was low.1st night there, someone beat on the downstairs door as well as tuned the breaker off/on. I notified the owner, no response. The house needs to be updated badly.

We are glad to have the opportunity to respond to this review and provide some additional clarity.....
1. It's important to mention that we checked in on the guest throughout their stay and at no time, did she mention anything about someone showing up and making the claim that another group had rented the home - never, so we have no idea what she is referring to. It seems that if this had happened within 15 minutes of arrival, we would have been contacted immediately, yet there was never any mention of this.
2. Yes, we did contact the guest after we received noise complaints from the neighbors. While it was still daytime (6:30pm) when the complaint came through, our listing states clearly 'no parties', so the fact that we received a complaint due to noise is what prompted us to reach out to the guest and request that they be respectful of the neighbors, and yes, we did inform the guest that if we received additional complaints, that the guest may be asked to leave without refund.
3. There was nobody at the home flipping breakers
Unfortunately, we believe this review was left as retaliatory because they were contacted based on noise complaints.
