Off the path into the woods, yet close to town

Publié le 8 juin 2023 sur HomeAway
You can be a hermit, or run back into town for what have you. The appliances are first rate. The owner had just cut the grass. The bed had a very comfy mattress

Great little cabin in the woods

Publié le 10 juill. 2022 sur HomeAway
Very clean; lots of extra towels and blankets. Well stocked kitchen. It was perfect for our stay. Loved the cows mooing in the morning; felt like I was back on the farm. Saw deer, a woodchuck, and other wild creatures on our drive in/out of Bagley.

Great Labor Day weekend getaway!

Publié le 11 sept. 2020 sur HomeAway
We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is clean, comfortable and well stocked. We did some fishing/boating and some other touristy things while in the area. We enjoyed some fires in the evening and some outdoor reading and walking during the day. Chris is a great host. He was available for any questions we had and saw to it that we were comfortable and had what we needed. If you're looking for a northern get away, check out this cabin in Bagley! My husband would like to visit in February for some cross country skiing!

Quiet Location

Publié le 20 août 2020 sur HomeAway
My husband and I stayed at this property last weekend. It was just as described, the home was clean and it was on a nice piece of property. It is about a mile off of the main highway but you cannot hear it at all! Chris was available for any questions we had before we made the reservation. Such a nice location, we will be back!

Nice location, Pros & Cons of our experience

Publié le 13 juill. 2020 sur HomeAway
PROS - Location convenient to Lake Itasca State Park, Bemidji and Chippewa National Forest. - Nice size modern cabin with central A/C, fridge with filtered water and ice maker. - Picturesque and peaceful, isolated area. - Plenty of room for outdoor yard games. CONS - This was my first vacation rental experience where upon arrival bed linens were not clean. I sent this message to the property owner the morning of our departure: "I didn’t find any instructions regarding if you’d like the beds stripped so we are doing this now. The lack of instructions may have been a problem with your last guests because upon arrival we noted both beds had dirty linens, one containing a significant amount of what appeared to be dog hair (we found clean sheets and used them). Additionally we found used towels on the back of bathroom door. All dirty towels and linens have been left in hamper or on floor." I was kind of hoping for some acknowledgement from the owner but "Que Será Será". - Our stay was rather impromptu and for only one night; we booked about two weeks out. Seven days prior to arrival the owner confirmed for me that other guests were staying in the cabin in the days immediately prior to us. Therefore, five days out, I asked the owner: "Weather permitting, are you able to open windows a few hours before we arrive as an extra precaution?" (The goal being to air out the cabin and further reduce risk of the virus) The response was "Yes." The day we arrived was a beautiful sunny day but unfortunately we found all windows closed and central A/C on. Easy enough to have forgotten but since the owner had previously messaged me he had been hesitant to rent the cabin due to COVID, I thought we were on the same page with extra precautions. Regardless, we opened windows upon arrival and had with us our own fans + air filter which ran for a good 90 minutes while we enjoyed the property outside.

In our defense the prior gas had left linens in the hamper we assumed they made the beds live and learn this is only our fourth time renting the cabin this will not happen again. They also left the towels in the bathroom and we do apologize for that. To your remarks on the airing out of the cabin I had personally aired it out the night before and closed it up and turned on the air that morning because it was in the high 80s to mid 90 degrees with 80% humidity. And the last time there were guests in the cabin for several weeks before, when you ask a question prior to our leaving I assumed you meant will there be other guests coming immediately after you. I am sorry that I assumed wrong.

Best Little Cabin

Publié le 7 juill. 2020 sur HomeAway
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Bagley! My husband and I stayed with our 2 adult children and our son-in-law in early July. The cabin is nestled on a farm property allowing privacy and peace and quiet. A spacious, grassy yard gives ample room for outdoor play and campfires. It is conveniently located less than 30 minutes to the North entrance of Itasca State Park (our main destination). It's also a short drive from the town of Bagley which has a great swimming beach and a grocery store. Chris was a great host. He was easy to communicate with and answered any questions we had. Check-in and check-out was super easy. The cabin itself worked well for our family. The Up North decor suited the cabin and gave it a cozy feel. The full kitchen is well stocked with everything you need for cooking. We used the gas grill every day to keep the cabin cool. (We were thankful for air conditioning with temperatures in the 90's!) The area has lots to offer. We went strawberry and honey berry picking at two of the local farms. In nearby Dorset there is a mini-golf course and some cute shops. Itasca State Park has great hiking and biking trails, along with boat rentals. A little further in Park Rapids is the start of the Heartland State Bike Trail which ties into the Paul Bunyan State Bike Trail. We would totally book this property again! This cabin would be great for hunters and snowmobile enthusiasts in the winter, too. We had a wonderful stay.
