"LOFTY-DIGS" A private, spacious studio in downtown Bangor.

LOFTY-DIGS is a brand new studio that we recently built in the upstairs of our barn. The studio is private, spacious, and inviting. Our location is within walking distance to all that Bangor has to offer including outdoor music venues, excellent pubs and restaurants, the beautiful Walk along the Penobscot River, and Stephen King's house is just 2 blocks away. The airport is only a 10 minute drive. There is a bus stop 200 yards from the house. The Northern Light Hospital EMMC is a 12 minute drive. The Casino is a 5 minute drive.

Fantastic Studio Apartment

Carol is a great host. She responded to my original questions almost immediately. The check in instructions were on point. She actually met me while I was checking in. Bonus points for the delicious zucchini bread she left on the front table as a welcome. Very nice property for a single guy such as myself or for a couple. I couldn’t have asked for more during the 5 days I spent there.

Cozy apartment with plenty of charm!

We had an absolutely lovely stay in Bangor at Carol & John’s charming studio. Our hosts were friendly and accommodating, and gave us some great recommendations for delicious local food. It was the perfect location to explore a bit of down east Maine, and we had a relaxing time. Thank you both!!

Fantastic Stay in Lofty Digs

My husband and I trail our motorcycle to Maine for our stay. We had plenty of parking accommodations for our truck, trailer and motorcycle. The loft upstairs was easily, accessible, safe, well lit, and very nice. The room itself was also extremely clean and everything looked new. we had great communication with the owner who was also on site and available when we needed. We had a great conversation and felt very welcome. The area was also very safe and we were told it was close to Steven King‘s house, which was an added bonus! We were able to walk there and see where the writer lives. we spent most of our time touring Maine, but we’re very comfortable later in the evening and throughout the night. The bed was comfortable, the AC worked. Great, there was coffee and other basics. Overall, we had a great stay and what highly recommend. Thanks for the stay, and for the great memories!

Upstairs unit with no elevator--might be an issue for some people. Small deck overlooking the beautiful garden. Off street parking. Newer unit had all working appliances. I would stay again.

Perfect and lovely loft for our vacation!

Lofty digs was a perfect location for our extended vacation in Maine. It has everything we needed, the hosts thought of every detail! The bed was extremely comfortable, air conditioning was a treat at the end of a hot day of touring ( we had other family come to Maine and stay at other vacation rentals who did not have that luxury). The hosts were extremely helpful and gracious , thoroughly enjoyed Carols delicious homemade banana bread! Thank you again, and if we come back to the area we would definitely stay again!!

We would like to thank Carol for providing such a clean, comfortable and welcoming stay at Lofty Digs. She met us at the door, explained certain things such as a/c controls, gave us contact info should we have any further questions or need assistance, and made us feel right at home. The loft was stocked with various necessities such as coffee, tea, spices and the like. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was roomy - we would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I stayed here for a week and it was the best!!! I can’t say enough about the hosts and their dog. They helped us find places to visit and suggested local restaurants. The loft was private, quiet, and in a great location to all things Maine.

Gem

You know you found a "gem" at the Lofty Digs from the moment you walk in door. I was just amazed at the thought and effort Carol put into every aspect of your stay, from the cleanliness, basic necessities, decor, down to the slippers on the floor. Carol and John are very friendly and made us feel at home. You get more than your money's worth, that's for sure. If we are ever back up this way we will definitely want to stay here again.

The ups and downs of Lofty Digs

They need to consider putting skid-proof treads on their steps. My wife slipped, fell, and had to go to emergency for x-rays. Because of the wood grain, it’s hard to distinguish where one step ends and another begins.

Perfect Location in Bangor Maine and LOVELY Studio

Wonderful studio with kitchenette and comfortable, clean living area with lots of room. The location is awesome - close to EVERYTHING you would need in Bangor. I would stay here again - no doubt. Definitely a 5 star location and owners (Carol/John) are extremely nice and make the rental process easy.

Every detail is considered--high quality cookware and small-space but functional appliances, comfortable bed and sitting area, terrific shower, high quality linens, and coffee with cream! Love this place! Great location and Carol couldn't have been friendlier or easier to work with! Beautiful historic home and amazing neighborhood. The insurance deposit probably should have been listed before the end of the booking process but with such a beautiful home we understood. Thanks for all of your help and kindness during our stay.
