Honest review, several reasons we won’t be back
Publié le 24 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayI want to be objective with this review - there was one reason the stay was very unpleasant for all of us that hopefully isn’t always a problem, some nice parts of the place, and some dirty/not so nice elements. The 2 stars I gave are for the nice parts of the property - 1. the view and property/yard is very nice, and 2. the area/neighborhood is very peaceful/safe.
The negative that I think anyone browsing for a place to stay should know is as follows:
1. There was very little water pressure the whole 3 days we stayed and the tap water was cloudy and brown. We called both numbers provided and left messages on the night we checked in. We did not hear back from anyone the entire visit and nobody could take showers or use the restroom. We did finally get a call about the messages we left 1 day AFTER we checked out. I hope this is an isolated incident and that the water usually works better and is clear, but I can only speak for our experience.
2. The cottage, while it seems to have been renovated in the pictures, is a bit rough and ready in reality. Windows don’t work or dont have screens to open for fresh air (because no AC), or they’re very dirty/rotted and full of bugs and spiders. There were also exposed areas that could have been covered during a renovation like a hole in the upstairs bathroom, a hole in downstairs ceiling tiles, exposed ductwork that has been disconnected, paper towels stuffed into framework in downstairs bathroom etc.

Very peaceful
Publié le 2 oct. 2023 sur HomeAwayMy husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Willow Cove Cabin. When I booked I had no idea of all the friended we would see pass by loved this so much! We had a quiet peaceful stay on this beautiful property! Close enough to visit other areas such as taquanimin falls, white fish point , we even tried yooperlite hunting . We will definitely me coming back here to stay!!

Beautiful Location

The cottage is quaint and comfortable with new appliances including a large refrigerator and washer/dryer combo. We really enjoyed the large yard, the nearby Dunbar park and many convenient attractions nearby including the Soo, the Tehquanamon Falls and others.

Publié le 25 août 2023 sur HomeAwayVery peaceful spot and fun watching the barges go by. Needs to have a little attention. We found dirt and cobwebs in the corners. Didn't dare to walk all the way out on the dock as the end was leaning and grass was growing thru it. Only able to walk through a very narrow spot in the grass that was over 3 feet tall. Refridgerator opens toward the wall instead of the counter.

Publié le 31 oct. 2022 sur HomeAwayWe had a wonderful time watching freighters and the gentle current of the river. The house has lots of things that other properties don’t like condiments, spices, ziploc bags, shampoo etc. Very nice.
The beds and sheets are so comfortable
I would recommend future renters bring their own water, as the water here is very hard and rusty.
Fabulous visit and would love to return.

A little getaway
