This home has many good things going for it, and a few puzzling things. Even though there's room for improvement, this property is a better option than any of the inns in town. The setting is a gorgeous wooded lot, with plenty of nature between neighbors. The home is spacious, inviting, and has everything you need to feel at home. The host did a wonderful job of making us feel welcome, excellent communication, easy check in and checkout. Some design choices made the stay somewhat awkward. First, watch out for that extra tall top step, I stubbed my toe hard when we arrived. The tiny mirrors in the large bathroom are hung high, limiting their usefulness, and there is no full length mirror anywhere. The shower water in the small bathroom does not flow to the drain, and leaks out through a gap behind the tiles. It was hard to find good counter and table space for toiletries & personal items. It was tough to fit glasses, a water bottle, and phone around the lamp next to the bed. No room for a CPAP. The mattresses are thin, uncomfortable for us overweight folks. Finally, while the home was tidy and linens were clean, the floors and surfaces were not. We found dust and hair in conspicuous places. The floors had not been mopped before our stay, and we had to wash our feet after walking barefoot. Not a deal breaker, and I hope the cleaner will pay closer attention to this. Bottom line, we will gladly stay here again when visiting family in the area.
