Pros: - Free transport (shuttle bus/van) from the resort to Nongsa Pura ferry terminal and vice versa - can book the transport via email/WhatsApp prior to arrival/departure - Large villa with 3 en-suite bedrooms, living room (with dining table and refrigerator), outdoor barbeque area and private pool (with cabana (not sheltered)) - Comfortable beds and pillows in the bedrooms - Good water pressure in the bathrooms - Water dispenser included in the living room - Good variety of activities available in the resort - Decent food choices at the buffet breakfast venue Cons: - Very poorly maintained villa. Cleanliness standard was probably equivalent to that of a 2-star resort - all three toilets in the 3-bedroom villa had a strong sewage smell, master bedroom and pool area had two cockroaches, pool water was dirty - Air-conditioner was leaking in one of the bedrooms and could not be fixed by the technicians - Lots of mosquitos in the villa complex - Slow service - booked a barbeque in the villa (for DIY cooking) and the food was only delivered about 1 hour after the initial booking time - Kitchenette area only has a sink and utensils, and does not include a stove - Beach club in the resort is under renovation - Resort is located at a more secluded area in Batam and it takes about 35-45 minutes to get to the Batam city centre via taxi/private hire cars

The staff are incredibly accommodating and it is an easy trip from Singapore via ferry. Parts of the property were nice but the main pool and beach area were under construction. I’d say the photos might be a bit outdated or we just happened to come before the property was spruced up for high season. Overall it could use some love. Private pool was a huge asset, as was included breakfast.

Montigo rocks!!

My family of 5 recently stayed at Montigo resort and though we only had a short 2D1N stay, we had the most amazing time. The villa was spacious and comfortable and we enjoyed all the facilities within the villa and around the property. But what sets the experience apart from other vacations we’ve had was the service. Every single staff member at Montigo we encountered was warm and helpful, attentive to our requests and going out of their way to make sure that we had an enjoyable stay. In particular, staff members Felli and Andry helped us a lot during our stay and treated us with so much care that prompted my son to ask me if we’re VIPs. 😊 We definitely look forward to returning soon and once again like to say a huge thank you for the fantastic experience!!
