Excellent location and beautiful property
Publié le 21 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayWonderful 2nd time staying at this location. Easy walk to the beach and great restaurants in ocean bay park. Biggest issue was not having anyone to text with questions. At other properties we have stayed we could contact the owners- Vacasa didn’t allow for this here. When the codes given to us didn’t unlock the bicycles we needed, it took a long time to get a hold of someone and the people who texted back gave generic answers and couldn’t help. They gave us the same code we had already received. So we never got unlock any bicycles to ride around fire island. Other than that it is a great house!

Many items missing or not working
Publié le 9 oct. 2022 sur HomeAwayWe stayed in Unit #2 for 11 nights in the 2nd half of September. We had a very nice time, really enjoyed spending time on the roof deck and hopefully will visit again. We stayed in Unit #1 for the last two summers so we're repeat custom
First let me say they provide shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, dish soap, dish sponge and paper towels plus there were 4 large beach towels.
With that said, there were many items missing or not working and we called the next morning asking for assistance. No one ever reached out to us in 11 days. We met the cleaning crew and they helped with certain missing items. Bring your own coffee filters, wine opener (their's is broken) and any and all spices. Normally there are a few spices left behind by the last guest but guessing all was tossed due to Covid.
Just because we come at the end of the summer season should not mean we have to put up with a variety of missing or malfunctioning items. 3 of the 4 living room windows did not work, ceiling fan not working (temps ranged from 80 to 47 degrees), It got so cold we tried to use what we thought was a mobile heater. No, it was a fan but we didn't know that back when it was so hot in the apt. One hand towel for 11 days and no bath mat. Also no dish drainer with tray. We used what looked like an album holder with a cake pan to catch the water. A variety of lesser issues were also told to the support team but no reply.
And to the couple in Unit #1 for 5-6 nights who woke us up every single night with their loud antics, chasing the dog around the apt, and getting locked out and calling the police to get them in, consider your neighbors and keep it down.

Ocean bay park
Publié le 5 août 2022 sur HomeAwayGreat location, closer to the bayside but the ocean is right down the block (3min walk).. easy access, gated and just as photos portrayed. The walls are thin between unit one and two so you would hear children, or anyone being loud in the morning if there is a concern for sleeping in.

Dirty beds, no working TV’s

Perfect fit!
Publié le 4 oct. 2020 sur HomeAwayWe had an amazing few days . The weather was a little slinky . But we explored and made the best of it. The apartment was a good size for our quick stay. It was clean and description advertised was accurate.
I really always judge Cleanliness by utensils And they were good. I preseason anyway but it was a pleasant surprise.
The mattress in sofa could use replacement. We took cot mattress and placed under so both boys could sleep on pull out. Really that was the only “bad” thing.
Their were Bikes available on property fixed So we could use it. Otherwise Rented bikes as the others available we pretty rough but we got 1 good one so that was a score!
We had an amazing time and had friends stop by to go out to dinner.
Definitely good for us 2 adults and 2 kids ( under 11)
Neighbors were nice. Almost don’t want to say to many nice things price will go up and no vacancy! Lol!

emails I had sent before stay were never answered, with the fees that are charged, that shouldn’t be.
Also check out was listed as 11, then it was shown as 10. ?
Coffee maker not working..
Should have some lights by entrance gate, very dark and there is a little step down off walk.
Could be a little more generous with toilet paper, 2 rolls for 5 days not enough
I would book property again.

Reasonable place to stay
Publié le 27 juill. 2020 sur HomeAwayWe rented the 2nd unit and the Overall cleanliness was perfect. Location of rental was perfect as it was close to town and the beach. Shower had great pressure and temperature. 2 HUGE Recommendations to be considered, AC unit in the bedroom and an actual door instead of a curtain for privacy. 3 out of the 4 bikes were not useable and for Fire Island this is a huge source of transportation that we were looking forward to utilizing. One bike the entire bike was rusted including the chain which rotted off. Another bike was chained up (which was also very rusted) and were given the wrong code in the email to unlock it and the other bike had a flat tire, brought it the bike shop and the tube needed to be replaced. Maybe cutting a deal with the bike shop that is steps away from the rental should be considered. We ended up paying to rent bikes which is not fair considering we were told there would be bikes for us to use.
3 minor recommendations, the screen door for The 2nd until should open the other way. It’s very hard to get everything past the door into that small area to then have to open it. The sink in the bathroom very slow and should be looked into. Should put some type of a table with chairs on the roof top as it looks in the picture. The couch is great but can’t really eat up there.
Again, overall great time but some of the key points that I mentioned should be addressed.
