Family Wedding

So not worth the money!
Publié le 8 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe came to LBI for a wedding and decided to make it a mini-vacation and were scheduled to stay 4 days and 4 nights. We ended up leaving early and were very disappointed in the condition and cleanliness of the house. TVs not working, outlets not working, broken chairs on the deck, that you could barely sit on, closet so full of junk that you could not fit your clothes, shower curtain so short that water came out when showered. Drawers with prior renters' old discarded materials and even a used condom in one. Disgusting. We do not recommend this property unless deep cleaned and fixed up. Also located close to a market, so we heard delivery trucks unloading in the early hours. Very noisy.

Guest contacted us upon checking in, letting us know the toaster wasn’t working, and we brought a new toaster immediately and told her to contact us if there were any other issues. The next time we heard from the guest was Sunday evening, the night before check out, saying she wanted her money back, and we would be hearing from her “in a legal capacity.” We were not afforded the opportunity to observe or correct any issues during their stay. The 2 cable TV’s mentioned in our listing were working properly. The house was thoroughly cleaned prior to their stay, and has been cleaned weekly all summer. We always get high marks for cleanliness. The shower curtain was the same length it has been for all guests, with no complaints. The house was built in 1876, there are no closets. They used a storage cabinet where we keep spare pillows and blankets to hang clothes. We provided 10 chairs, for their party of 7, three of the chairs had one strap broken under the cushion. This was the end of our season, which was completely booked with back to back reservations. We do extensive maintenance over the winter prior to each season. Regarding, the box of condoms and a “used” one in the nightstand: based on the minor nature of this guests other complaints, not informing us until the end of her stay, requesting a refund and threatening legal action, we can’t help but wonder if the guest placed those items in the drawer. We can’t know that for sure, as the cleaners do not open every drawer.

LBI 2024 trip
Publié le 16 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayMy family and I had a great stay at 210 Engleside! We loved the pool and location! It was so close to everything, the beach, grocery store, shops! We look forward to coming back next year!

Great Vacation

Almost perfect
Publié le 10 août 2024 sur HomeAwayOverall enjoyed our stay ... house close to everything and we enjoyed the pool. We liked that there were books and games for rainy days. The hosts were available and responded quickly via text. With 5 bedrooms we especially liked that everyone had their own space and the outdoor shower.
For the price we were disappointed in the little things that seemed like simple fixes .. discussed with hosts so hopefully fixed for future guests. In addition, there were two tables poolside but wish there were 2 chaise lounges.
Again, we loved the history and the location and we had a good time. Can't wait to come back to LBI!
