Perfect getaway
Publié le 18 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayThis little place was absolutely wonderful. The house is in a quite wooded area, very cozy and well equipped. The host was very friendly and helpful, even guided me through how to use the boat. It’s a great place to stay and I can’t wait to come back!

Dream come true!

Well worth it
Publié le 29 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayStayed two weekends in a row. Kevin was helpful thru out the process. The cabin and everything listed is accurate. No problems at all. Will be back next year!

Beware

Propane heater was not vented.
Oven was filthy as was carpet.
Electrical plug above kitchen sink is loose. BEWARE!
Lighting is dim.
Dock is slippery and no hand rails.
Couldn't excess boat. To far away from dock.
Fire place wood was wet, not covered.
Had to wash dishes before using.
Cleaned out silverware drawer as it probably never had been done before.
Bottom line... We are glad to be home!

Renter was elderly and couldn't hear a phone voice conversation, so we couldn't explain a few things to him:
Our "Mr. Heater" is a certified ventless heater that doesn't need venting and our free dry firewood was located in the shed (but good suggestion to cover our outside firewood pile with a tarp).
We do allow our renters to clean the cottage themselves to save money, or pay for our cleaning crew to do it. Our policy is to check the cottage between renters for cleanliness, but it looks like we dropped the ball on this one! This renter couldn't talk on the phone because of a hearing problem, but we normally call our renters when they check in and would have sent the cleaning crew back to correct any deficiencies. We don't have an electrical plug above the kitchen sink, but we did find a kitchen outlet that was loose and replaced that. No prior complaints about dim lighting, but we decided to put in some brighter bulbs since that was an easy fix. We did have to anchor the fishing boat further out since the lake level was low that time of year, but normally it sits on our boatlift for easier access. Our policy is to make our guests happy, but this renter couldn't talk on the phone so we didn't know about these problems until after their review. (We are available 24/7 by phone to handle any issues before/during/after your stay.)

Ideal Location

Even though we managed to get cold, windy, rainy weather, we had a cozy cabin on a gorgeous lake. The cabin has modern amenities, yet a retro vibe that evokes nostalgia. On the nights it was dry, we enjoyed the grill and firepit. Kevin made sure we had everything we needed and was great to work with. Definitely plan to return during the warm season!

EXACTLY what we were looking for!
Publié le 29 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayLoved the comfy, old-fashioned furniture, the rustic cabin, yet with up-to-date kitchen and bath. Came for the cooler weather and changing leaves. Perfect timing! Two weeks of nothing but sitting on the dock with our coffee or wine. Mornings with the propane heater to take the chill off, and (most) evenings with the wood stove. Reading the guest book - "our 5th", "10th", "12th" "vacation here". No wonder people keep coming back! Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece of heaven with your guests!

Amazing stay!
Publié le 18 juin 2023 sur HomeAwayKevin is an awesome host! This is a beautiful area. The cottage is retro and awesome. It’s not fancy, but is a great location and has everything that you need. It was quiet and relaxing. We will definitely stay again!
