Not what we got from pictures or anentities
Publié le 22 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayBeing remodeled at time of reqeusted stay. Could not sit outside - no lawn chairs. NO HOT tub as discribed.
Only seating in living room was a couch that was falling apart. Had to buy lawn chairs. Five chairs around kitchen table and counter top - 2 were not usable.
Appliances were really great.
Only one closet was usable for three bedrroms. Maintenance materials were stored in two of them.

Arcadia Bluffs Golf Adventure

When we went inside we found a very inviting, clean house which looked like the pictures. There were a few minor issues which the host pointed out prior to arrival and were addressed. The communication was great. The house fit our needs for four men on a golf trip.

Spacious and clean
Publié le 13 févr. 2024 sur HomeAwayMy boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights while we went snowboarding at Crystal Mountain. I couldn't ask for a better place to stay for the price. It was very clean when we arrived, and I was surprised at how much room there was for more guests if needed. The pool table and hot tub was what we were looking forward to and it did not disappoint. We brought food to make breakfast and had everything we needed. The little heater in the bathroom was a great bonus for me too. I messaged a quick question for Jacob, and he answered within the hour. Diner 44 down the street had great food and great service. I would recommend this cottage to anyone and would consider staying here again.

Not what we expected.

Golf Weekend

First we get there at check in and the host pulls in because the toilet was backed up in one of the bathrooms and the hot tub needed to be cleaned. This should have been taken care of before we arrived. The toilet was backing up into then bathtub. This was a huge inconvenience because we had 8 people having to use one rest. room. The hot tub was vacuumed out and still was gross the chemicals were so strong it gave us all rashes. The cleanliness was a 1. We took pictures of everything because it was so bad. The “AC” was not actual AC it is a window unit that had an inch of dust in the filter and the hose continuously fell off of the back so all of the bad air was blowing right back into the house. This place says remodeled that should be a very loose term and the only thing that seems to be remodeled were the bath tubs and appliances. The walls,.doors and ceilings along with ceiling fans covered in dust. Light fixtures exposed in bedrooms with no covers and only the TV in the living room turns on. Over all it was only good because of the beds. I would not recommend this house unless it went under major deep clean. Oh also there was a large drug paraphernalia on the grill. THERE IS ZERO attention of detail to a place that has large potential

Up North MI
Publié le 8 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayThis house doesn’t look like much on the outside and is right on a main (fairly busy) road, but the inside has been redone, all new appliances, mattresses (comfortable), etc. The location is great, right near many places we like to go when up north (IE: Iron Fish Distillery, Lighthouse Cafe, Point Betsie Lighthouse, etc). Outside kept up with flowers, fire pit & chairs, grill, woods out back. It’s a nice place to rest your head at night.

Close to Hiking Areas
Publié le 4 mai 2023 sur HomeAwayThis was the perfect place to stay because of the location! We took a weekend and went hiking to different places and looking for mushrooms. Close to everything, quiet and right on a main road!
The pictures need to be updated. There was only a couch in the living room, but pictures showed also a chair/recliner. The fireplace that is listed in features doesn't work, but it doesn't say that. The hot tub was a great addition, but it was not well kept. Not enough chlorine, two of us got rashes and we only used it twice. There were no chairs readily available for sitting around the fire either.
There should definitely be a disclaimer stating that certain things will not be available (?)month-(?)month.
We had a great time! But for us to come back things would definitely need to be updated/fixed.

Great place to unwind.
Publié le 5 avr. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe had a great time at Bear Lake Cottage. I brought my teenage daughter and her friend along, and we each ended up with our own bedroom. It was great to have 2 full bathrooms and an open floor plan. We loved the large kitchen, which is stocked with plenty of pots/pans, baking sheets, cooking utensils, a great coffee pot and a toaster. The barstools and high table are very wobbly and there isn’t much else for furniture besides the couch. But it worked great for us. We enjoyed our time on the hot tub and playing pool when we were at the cottage, but it’s pretty close to several places we wanted to check out in the area, so we found ourselves wandering more than relaxing at the cottage. The beds were comfortable and there is heaters in each bedroom. We didn’t encounter any problems while we were there, but I know that Jacob would respond quickly if needed. One thing that might be helpful for future guests is to display the house numbers on the property better. I never saw any house numbers from the street, but my GPS did take us right there.
I would love to stay here again in the future. Great location and cozy cottage.
