Great Northern Michigan Retreat

We had plenty of space, and having the full basement with game room was a huge bonus for our stay! The house was clean and the amenities were awesome. We loved the double sided fireplace and we were able to totally disconnect and relax. We will definitely keep this property in our rotation.

Bugs, mold, broken appliances and water leaks in the ceiling

The Water heater was replaced during our visit and the water was shut completely off and the handymen were permitted to in the house with us guests despite us being assured they wouldnt be inside the house. A bug resembling a cockroach was found walking along a bathroom sink. The fireplace wouldn’t turn on. The refrigerator froze everything. There was also a water leak in the ceiling in the basement. And multiple drop ceiling tiles were moldy in the basement. But for our “inconvenience” we were offered to stay two extra hours. It was a bad joke.

Owner's response: "Kayla, we want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your trip. - We have not received any complaints about bugs, however, we have had the house treated by professionals. They were out last week and did not report any issues. We also have another visit scheduled to ensure there is no problem. - We had a water leak many years ago. There was one piece of water-stained tile this was not mold. This has been replaced, we have no water leaks. - We have not had anyone reach out about broken appliances. We have not had anything that needed to be repaired or did not work for us. - The water heater was replaced during your stay, we did give you a heads-up and asked if this was okay. You indicated it would not be a problem and that you would be gone during the days. The water was only shut off for a short time while the tanks were swapped out. - The fireplace is controlled by a thermostat. It was 80 degrees and you can't use it when it's that warm. We're sorry for the inconvenience. - Our refrigerator is about 1 month old, and we've had zero issues or complaints. Could you have changed the setting by accident? - We offered you early check-in/late check-out before you arrived, this was a kind gesture on our part it was in no way compensation.We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests. We will continue to strive for those 5-star experiences we know we can deliver."

Comfortably Spacious and Well Equipped
Publié le 19 mai 2023 sur HomeAwayTwo sets of grandparents and a family of 5 with 3 children under 6 years old had a very comfortable weekend located close to other family members staying at nearby properties while coming together for a nephew's memorial service. Children thoroughly enjoyed the game room, and the setting was a beautiful walk to nearby properties.

Great location, very comfortable home
Publié le 13 févr. 2023 sur HomeAwayStayed here for our friends ski trip. The house was in a great location and fit 6 adults and 6 teenagers very comfortably. The kitchen was well equipped, even had 2 ovens upstairs and a third downstairs!!!

Winter Wonderland
Publié le 5 févr. 2023 sur HomeAwayThe property location is perfect. Nice home with plenty of room for 3 families, all 12 of us. The only negatives were the horrible sewer smell outside the home. We build a fire outside in the fire pit but the smell was soo bad we couldn’t enjoy. The property description indicated that the indoor pool at Shanty Creek was included and it is not. Overall we enjoyed our family ski weekend.

Stunning Cabin!
