About this space
Welcome to "Hickory Dickory Doc's" cabin. Doctor Charles Curtis, aka "Doc", was a family physician in Bellville, OH, for nearly half a century. The cabin, surrounded by beautiful hickory trees, overlooks the scenic Clear Fork river and is uniquely decorated. It sleeps 14, has two spiral staircases, a gas fireplace, a 7 person hot tub, beautiful deck, an outdoor fire pit and much more. It's truly a magical place. A stay here is just what the "doctor" ordered :). Enjoy your stay!

The cabin is secluded in the woods but just minutes to local shops, restaurants and grocery stores. We kept as many of the original fixtures as possible that add to the uniqueness of the cabin including the blue stone steps that are a bit uneven but add to the ambiance. Additionally, the original spiral staircase to the basement is a unique touch. There are fishing poles and a small tackle box provided for fishing in the river. Live bait can be purchased at the Amoco station on State Rt. 97 in Bellville. We’re close to the bike trail as well so bring your bikes and enjoy the scenery on the trail. Look for the bald eagles flying by too.

Guests have access to the entire cabin. We’ve a laundry room complete w/ washer and dryer, a fire pit (firewood can be purchased at Stoodt's Market in Bellville for $4.99/bundle), a 2 car garage, a 7 person hot tub and a game room w/ air hockey and ping pong tables as well as a pool table. Additionally, there are two living rooms w/ smart tv’s and more.

Pets are welcome for an additional $50 fee PER PET. Please leave cash for the pet fee in the guestbook upon checking out. Also, there’s a short trail to the river that traverses down a bit of a slope. We’ve a large rope there to assist folks on the steepest part should they need it. Those with mobility issues may not be able to access the river. Otherwise, it’s completely doable w/o assistance. Finally, please rinse off (especially if in the river first) before entering the hot tub. Enjoy!

Doc's Cabin is Amazing!
Doc's cabin was awesome! My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary even though it was way too much house for just 2. A great price and it had everything we were looking for. A cabin with privacy, a fire pit and a hot tub, yet had modern conveniences such as appliances, tv and internet as well as being close enough to a quaint town in case we wanted to explore! So many interesting and fun things to do! My husband's favorite part was the view. We saw deer from the living room and kitchen windows in the mornings! My favorite thing was the easy to use gas fireplace in the living room! Another fireplace downstairs appeared to be able to burn wood. The furniture was very cozy with plenty of space for games, eating, etc. There were so many historic and antique things to look at within the house! A history of the previous owner was included in a binder so thoughtfully prepared with food and recreational suggestions. We only needed to bring food, clothes and ourselves! Stores and restaurants were nearby and the furthest we needed to go was less than 15 minutes away. I would suggest Fast Eddie's for Italian dinners for delivery. We loved this house so much we would like to plan a family trip to stay here again! Thank you so much to the hosts! We hope to visit again soon!

First the leaves were at their peak this weekend and made our stay even more amazing. Doc’s was everything and more than we expected. We are a group of friends that just wanted to get together to relax and enjoy time together. And Doc’s filled that. The cabin was cute and quirky. It was clean and we had basicly all we needed. Family vacation 2024
Our family of four along with kids friends and our dog stayed for 3 nights. We had a blast! There was so much room that the girls took over the three bedrooms and yellow bathroom and the boys took over the basement. We all enjoyed eating meals at the kitchen table that accommodated all of us. The hot tub and the fire pit were hits and the boys enjoyed taking the kayak out for a ride, even thought the current coming back was a little strong! Would definitely recommend this property for the space, the layout and loved the very cool/unique decor!

Great vibe!!
Great place to get away and enjoy time with friends and family. We got married about 25 minutes from this cabin at my grandfather's property. Such a beautiful decor throughout. The a/c conditions need improvement for hotter months, the rope to the river needs to be replaced and the landscaping could use some attention. But overall for early in the season it is wonderful and we would book again.

Was an amazing stay absolutely felt like home. The hot tub was over amazing over the top. The house itself was so rustic and vintage. I felt like I was in the 1930s but a great 1930s overall this is perfect for families or just for friends trying to get away and clear mind absolutely great location.

This cabin has so much character and the location is great for a quiet getaway! It had everything we needed last weekend and the owners are top notch. Couple things to note: it sleeps 14 but parking is tight with 9 cars so you’ll need to carpool and it is not ADA accessible. These were not a problem with our group but wanted to mention it in case someone else was booking and it was a concern.
