Walleye Fishing
Publié le 19 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayGreat Place to stay, right on the lake with a dock for the boat. Boat Ramp was 5 min away. The cottage had everything we needed. Very clean and comfortable. Nice back yard on the lake with fire pit. Plenty of parking space in the front. Quiet dead-end road. Neighbors were very friendly. Will Definitely be back same time next year.

Convenient

The location is ideal, with Bemus Point nearby and all that Lake Chautauqua has to offer, plus it’s only about 15 minutes from Jamestown. The cottage was the perfect size for us and our dog. The yard overlooks the lake, offering a nice view, though I’d recommend trimming the tall vegetation along the shore to enhance the view even more. The cottage is well-equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Great place to stay
Publié le 8 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe really enjoyed our stay there. There was plenty of room for us and we enjoyed being on the lake. There also was plenty of room outside. Our grandchildren were over during one of the days and they enjoyed playing frisbee. It is very close to Bemus Point which is one of our favorite spots on the lake.

Not what we expected
Publié le 31 août 2024 sur HomeAwayAlthough the cottage had the necessities, the first thing we noticed was the lack of a lake few due to the tall weeds along the entire shoreline. The picture on the listing was terribly misleading! The place wasn't awful, but certainly not clean. The daybed was too hard to sleep on, so took the mattress from the trundle and put it on top. Looking forward to the steaks we brought only to find out the gas grill didn't work. Absolutely no comfortable seating on the deck which was incredibly dirty. Fortunately I noticed this in other pictures & brought my chairs.

Oh dear Judith, I am so sorry that your experience was less than you were hoping to have. Each day and evening at the cottage brings a beautiful view, both peaceful and inspiring. If the natural growth of nature's plants disturb you, that is something to note. The cottage is modest, with an open floor plan. The inside and outside space has fostered weddings, gatherings, and small (even solo) peaceful times. Always, loving and kindly experiences.
Some have said, "I thought you said the space was small, - it isn't, all with perspective."
Mother Nature brings incredible beauty and I love being a Gracious Hostess and want to bring gracious hospitality(which is why I try to make the kitchen provide all that one would want for a beautiful shared experience with our fellow humanity.)
I just had my property manager check and the grill works fine. I am sorry that you didn't embrace my offer to "ask for what you need". We would helped you work the grill.
As far as the comfort of the day bed, I am wondering whether you might want something different from a lake cottage experience.
Casa de Sol y Luz, brings joy and respite along with nostalgia and inspiration from those who want to connect with nature and the lake, be among each other, and determine a way to live with both simplicity and humility while living fully- a space to do just that.

Great cottage
Publié le 27 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWe enjoyed our stay at this lakefront cottage. The house had everything we needed and it was nice to dock the boat right in front of the house. The owner was great with communicating and making everhthing went as good as it possibly could. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us!

Cute cottage, great communication
Publié le 23 août 2024 sur HomeAwayThe cottage was bigger than I expected. We had basically 5 adults (2 parents and 3 kids in their 20's) and had plenty of room. It was nice that we were right on the water and the sunsets were beautiful. Communication with Laurie was excellent, she was very accommodating.

Lakefront Gettaway
Publié le 11 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayVery clean. Host provided paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, spices, many utensils, etc. Was a great place to stay. Wonderful view of the lake.
