Good for camping
Publié le 9 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe property is great! The creek and yard were perfect for my kids. The house was ok but a few things that need attention. The back sliding door doesn’t lock and is kept shut by a strip of wood at the bottom. I was alone with my kids so not having good locks bothered me. I also wasn’t aware that the water supply was limited because it’s on a well. Todd replied very quickly to any questions I had.

Nice quiet getaway

FYI, The pictures are great but it’s a bit more rustic than they make it seem. Still, it was great to sit outside and hear the brooks flowing. Very quiet street! Housecleaning was a bit lacking though as there were some huge cobwebs in the corners. That was fine for us as we spend our time in a barn anyway.

Relaxing Vacation

Cabin in the woods
Publié le 28 févr. 2024 sur HomeAwayEnjoyed being together in the woods. The cabin felt unclean and worn out. It would have been nice to be able to sit outside by the fire pit and stream but there wasn't any seating.

Had you asked, I would have told your that there were plenty of camp chairs in the box on the back porch for use around the fire pit, as well as a poker and roasting sticks for making smores or hot dogs. Two Brooks Lodge is cleaned by a professional cleaner in between every guest, and the house books quite a bit, so it rarely sits empty.

Disgusting
Publié le 20 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayMany issues throughout whole property. Dirty, rub down, and not cleaned well, if at all (food smears on cupboards/walls). Undisclosed security cameras, cloudy water in hot tub, hot tub plugged into extension cord laying on ground right where you get in and out of tub, pieces of broken chlorine tabs laying all around deck, clothes dryer literally hanging off the wall by one remaining screw, issues with well, tore up furniture, and (what appears to be) black mold in utility closet. Owner dismissed issues, was rude, insulted me, and then called me a liar. This property is currently under review by VRBO and the Vermont health department. Beware!! It was so bad we had to leave and owner was trying to get us to cancel the rest of our reservation so he could rent it out ASAP without addressing issues. Owner is out of state and told us he didn't have a maintenance person in the area. Don't let this dump ruin your vacation!

I was just at the property and left it in immaculate condition. We had a professional maintenance man rehang the dryer properly when we learned it had come loose. Basically, none of your other issues are/were true. The property is professionally cleaned between guests, and the overwhelming majority of our guests LOVE their stays with us, with many repeat guests. I asked you to provide photographic evidence of any of your claims, which you did not. And of course, it's not "under review" by VRBO or the Vermont Health Department, another falsehood. So sorry that you didn't get your way, but we don't submit to falsehoods or temper tantrums.

Fishing & Relaxing

Peaceful and mostly quiet

Two of the 3 overhead fans weren't working; the footrest on one side of the sofa was broken, the kitchen was the biggest disappointed because I wanted to try some new recipes but all of the kitchen equipment was as old as I am. There wasn't much there. It is not heathy to use very scratched non stick surfaces
The hot tub was great and we used it several times. The grill was filthy and there wasn't even charcoal or lighter fluid. I left what we didn't use as my grill is propane.

Porch Swing Delight
Publié le 11 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayThe porch with hot tub overlooking the brook was exactly what made this stay a joy. And the quiet location at the end of the road. The house was adequate and the kitchen less so. Bare essentials. Not enough dishes to fill up the dishwasher or microwaveable casserole dishes or bowls to heat meals. We were happy to conserve water, but were constantly washing dishes.

Amy, we will take a look at the inventory again. We housed some international refugees for a period, and some of our inventory may have gotten mixed in with their stuff, as this is the first we have heard anyone have an issue with the kitchen supplies. There should be plenty of dishes for 6-8 people! Thanks for the feedback.
