Summary:
This 6-bed/4-bath home is great for large families. Enjoy private river access as well as blufftop views of a 300 acre field. Short distance to ND, wineries, and area beaches.

The Space:
Welcome to Bluffview on the River!

Relish a relaxing stroll along the river. Come back after a great day of exploring and enjoy access to a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, and coffee maker as well as dishes and utensils. Washer/dryer also included. Sleeps 16 comfortably. This 3,356 sq. ft home is spacious with lots of enjoyable places to relax or play a board game with the family. Large 1.7-acre private lot with back deck, patio furniture, barrel sauna, fire pit, and charcoal grill for your leisure enjoyment (don't forget to bring your briquettes!). Enjoy relaxing by the St. Joseph River which has private access on the property; float down the river or paddle a kayak. Guests will find the space to be warm, comfortable, and inviting and the hosts to be responsive and diligent to provide an excellent stay for each guest. Here on a business trip; work in comfort with the free high-speed Internet service.

Not only is this home conveniently located to various activities but close access to grabbing a bite to eat. Take a 5-minute drive to downtown Berrien Springs to check out the local restaurants. The entire home is for your private use with an easy self-check-in process to accommodate various arrival times. There is a private entrance with your own access code that will function between your check-in and check-out times. Great restaurants are less than 2 miles in downtown Berrien Springs and less than 2 miles from grocery stores. Only 27 miles from Notre Dame University! Just what we needed
We stayed here as a break between stressful events/ a change of environment/ a few days to recharge and relax. As it was March, the house interior was the main focus and where we spent the majority of our time since it was too cold to enjoy much of anything outdoors- though the view out back was beautiful and there would be many things to enjoy on the property outdoors in nicer weather. The house was spacious and decorated warmly. We were able to spread out and not be in each other's faces unless we wanted to be. The kitchen was obviously stocked by owners who live there at times/use it themselves- the amount and variety of cookware, bakeware, utensils, appliances, linens, and minutiae that make up a fully functional kitchen for someone who cooks most/all meals at home was exceptional. All we needed was a quick trip to the local grocery store for perishables and we were set for our stay. For us, the one most important amenity that set this property apart from others available at the time (winter/cold weather) was the "real" fireplace. There is almost nothing more relaxing than a beautiful, crackling, wonderful-smelling wood fire. We had a local individual deliver enough wood for our time there, and using it every afternoon until we retired for the night was the highlight of our stay. It nourished our souls. I was able to work remotely with no issues; the internet service was fast and reliable on all devices. The owner was quick to respond to all of our questions before and during our stay. The only thing we would change is just a personal preference: there were no blinds for privacy on the windows that look out onto the neighborhood, and we are very private people who are uncomfortable with everyone walking/driving by being able to see inside when it's dark outdoors/lights are on indoors- most especially the large windows in the living room (which had a single sun-filtering shade on the center window only). We would definitely stay here again in the future, and would love to return when it's warmer so we can enjoy the outdoor amenities. This property goes on our "favorites" list of places we've rented.

Not as depicted, disappointing stay.
There were multiple issues with the property during our stay: -wifi connectivity issues -showers leaking and ceilings falling down -grill was unable to be used (rotted with gas leaking) -no central air conditioning, house was 80 degrees during our stay -could not open windows (no screens available) -smokey smell radiated throughout the house -no batteries in most smoke detectors Property manager did reply and come to the residence, but was unable to fix or solve the many concerns and issues during our stay. Overall, we were very dissatisfied with our stay. We traveled from Massachusetts, Virginia, and Illinois to attend a family wedding. We had elderly grandparents and two pregnant women staying and were left very uncomfortable all weekend. We have left a message with the property management company as well as VRBO with pictures to support these concerns.

Great house for large groups in a quiet neighborhood
We stayed here with a group of eight and it was fantastic for a large group. The large common spaces inside and outside were great for us to hang out and the large and well stocked kitchen were great for cooking meals together. It's very remote, but that's what we were looking for. It also has access to a river in the back yard which is quite pretty. Communication was a bit disjointed as I got calls from two or three different people at different times and the owners' pet rabbit was in the basement of the house (in a pen), though we were never notified about this ahead of time.

Stayed at this property for Notre Dame football weekend. The house was clean, spacious and had all that we needed. Sage was helpful and made communication a breeze through text and calls. Would definitely recommend.

Some concerns
Great backyard for family fun. Beware that this property is in a neighborhood but many of the rooms lack any window coverings for bedroom privacy. The whole basement flooded overnight after a rain, with standing water, including bedrooms-soaked bed linens and personal belongings while family was sleeping there. Garbage service was an issue-Maintenance was person responsive to the acute concerns. Refrigerator with cleanliness and function problems, luckily had second frig in flooded basement.

Nice home, large enough for our family of 13. Well appointed. We had hoped it was closer to the beach, was a 25 minute drive. We had also hoped the kids would be able to play in the river, but access was down a grassy hill and across some mud, not visible from the house, not readily usable.

Lots of space!
This is a wonderful home for a large family like ours! We’ve rented homes in the past listing six bedrooms only to arrive and find they included a pull-out or air mattress as a bedroom. This pretty home has six actual bedrooms with comfortable beds. It’s clean and has everything you’ll need for an enjoyable stay. There’s a large living space to gather. The deck and fire pit are great with lots of seating. It should be noted that the house is not on the river. In the summer while the trees are full, you can’t even see the river from the elevated deck. The river is a short walk down a hill. We were very comfortable and had a great stay. We would definitely rent this home again.

We had a wonderful experience renting this house. It was like a home away from home. The only problems we had was someone before our stay left a window open and we had a lot mosquitos in the house. The other problem was the front door lock didn't work so we had to leave through a back door.
